Verified PurchaserHotel Playa Paraiso: Wonderful Experience!
Overall the energy of the staff and resort is really positive. Whatever you need you can truly get. Even if food is an issue. O matter what you can find something that will be great. Having an ice cream shop is absolutely fantastic!!! The entertainment was top notch. The breakdancer whom is freelance, bboy90 was amazing!!! The service at the front amazing. We brought tips for the gardeners and cleaners doing such a great job. Everyone was so pleasant and grateful. We would have stayed forever.

Verified PurchaserVila Gale Cayo Paredon: Amazing Resort
This resort was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, the rooms were kept clean. Not a very far walk to get to the beach, pool, or meals. Everything was so beautiful. The entertainers were awesome. They knew how to make you feel welcomed. I would definitely recommend Vila Gale to my friends, and I'm hoping one day to be back there again. There was no shortage of anything. I'm just disappointed my stay got cut short due to the fuel shortage.

Verified PurchaserMemories Caribe Beach Resort: Last visit to this resort
On our first full day, we encountered an issue in the dinner buffet involving staff members. We were upset that at 8:30pm in the evening, nothing was being replenished for a 10pm closing. No wine, veggies for pasta bar, ice cream and so on. When we decided to leave and go to the snack bar, Bites, to eat, and after the staff became aware that we were not happy, 8-10 staff members came outside and started laughing. One lady in particular was pointing and laughing at us very loudly. When I turned around and they say how upset I had become, they all started to scramble, and I wanted to get their names, especially of the one pointing at us. She refused to give me her name, so I threatened to take her picture (which I didn't take), to show it to her supervisor. A young gentleman that was working that evening named Daniel, diffused the situation and apologized for the staff behavior. We were given a bottle of wine for our room, which we never did drink. We then left the buffet, and went to Bites to eat. There, I was approached by a staff member wanted to know my room number. I refused to give it to her. She said she worked in customer service, but I still refused. I was starting to feel like something might happen to us, if we were being followed and they wanted to know where we were staying. The next day, after cooling off with the incident, we talked to a woman who books the ala carte dinners, and explained what had happened the previous evening. She then called in another woman and explained our situation the previous evening. She told me that she would look into our encounter and get back to us. That never happened, so on our last day while waiting for the bus to take us to the airport, I spoke the the gentleman in the Premium lounge, and he took me to the customer service room to clear up what had happened. The same woman that wanted to know my room number was there, and she called in her boss. They both made it sound like I was lying and that their staff did no wrong. Great customer service. I had refused to go back to the buffet for the rest of that week, and stuck to my word. I was humiliated at the buffet and then again by the customer service. After my 3rd trip to this resort, I will never be back.
We stayed a week at this hotel. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate for us. The grounds, for the most part, are well kept. We appreciated the palms although there did seem to be not much in the way of flowers. Maybe it was the time of year.
Our room was the largest we have had in Cuba. This was our 15th visit to the country. We did, however, experience some electrical issues and, at times, lack of hot water.
There was lots of food choices. We appreciated the buffet and having an excellent person on the eggs made to order station. Great variety of hot and cold items. Even tomatoes. Always red or white wine or beer on order for lunch or dinner.
We did two al la cartes and were not impressed with either one. But, the snack bar has a fabulous burger. Most delicious.
The winds were too cold for us to use any of the three pools as they are not heated. We noted there was only one public restroom for pool users that was located over at the snack bar which is some distance away. Not very handy. And, as always, the lounge chairs were gone by early morning by those that put their towel on them.
The restroom off the lobby needs a total gut job. Not nice in there. However, there is one on the opposite side of the check in counter that was good.
Too cold and windy for us to walk the beach or use the beach bar.
It would be nice if staff had a name badge. Our room maid did not understand English. I did use Google translate. She looked after us well and kept our mini bar stocked daily with water and Crystal beer.
As seniors, we did note there is a lot of walking to get to the buffet, etc. Our room was in building 11 up on a hill. The pool view rooms are lower down and right by the pools. The villas that have a plunge pool are definitely on level ground and walkways.
We did note lack of lighting on our walk back up to our room. We certainly made use of our led flashlight during our stay.
We really appreciated the dedicated transportation to and from the airport. No stopping at other hotels. Yay!
We thought the resort was very nice. It's a very quiet resort.
We really enjoyed the a la carte restaurants. And we love the beach and the sunshine.
There was always beer and water in our fridge in our room which was nice. The towels weren't changed everyday but as long as we hung them that was fine with us.

Verified PurchaserMemories Caribe Beach Resort: Great trip and Resort
We visited Memories Caribe during the week of Feb. 8, 2026. We were repatriated back home to Canada on Feb. 16. Aside from the geopolitics with Cuba, the resort overall, and resort staff continued to do amazing work to ensure we were always satisfied and happy. At no time did the stress of what was taking place outside the resort for these employees play a role in how they went about their work with us. I witnessed strong, dedicated, resilient people. We were well aware of the conditions they faced at home, and even while we enjoyed the resources of the resort, it was never far from our minds of the challenges they faced when they went home. Many of them working 16 hour days, more than 7 consecutive days in a row. We travelled to Cuba for many years, and this is the biggest challenge and hardship they will ever face, by far. Our hearts go out to the people of Cuba and when the time is right we will return to Cuba and to Memories Caribe.

Verified PurchaserGrand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: One of our Top Cuba Experiences
We were pleasantly surprised with this location. A great layout to access and enjoy the various features and exterior spaces. Pools beautiful and clean. There are some buildings a few moments away , we were in building 4 - a short 10 minute walk to the as expected BEAUTIFUL beach. One of the key features was the exception food. The main buffet was very good, many thoughtful touches. The Italian and Indian alacartes were fantastic. Our room was very good, comfortable bed and everything you need and very clean. Great beverage variety. Another key feature was the staff and customer service. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The evening entertainment in the theater and lobby entertainment very enjoyable. I would describe this location as accessible. There were numerous ramps in and out of the main lobby as well as among the pool levels. The public washrooms were always very clean and well stocked.
I would definitely return to this location.
We were among the last vacationers leaving Cuba Feb 2026. We feel for all the employees there and hope we can go back next year.
The Grand Aston has one of the nicest beaches we've ever seen.
Everything at the hotel to the last corner was clean and updated. Landscaping is amazing.
We had a garden view room, that's the least expensive we could get, since we don't spend much time in the room. The room was specious with a balcony, a comfortable bed and a huge shower. It was cleaned every day but you don't get a restock on shampoo. We knew that and brought our own.
Food was plenty and a good variety. We expected way less for Cuba.
The advertised night entertainment was cancelled some nights due to fuel shortages, we think. But the hotel activities team did their best to fill in.
The employees did an amazing job. Everyone to the cleaners and gardeners are friendly. The resort is only half an hour from the airport.
Make sure you visit the light house area. We enjoyed the walk but you can also take a shuttle. We had some ice cream there and got some souvenirs. We were sad to see it underutilized.

Verified PurchaserMelia Costa Rey: Third time's a charm!
For our third time at this resort we upgraded to a Level room. The rooms are the same as the regular side, but we had no direct view of the ocean, so we petitioned for another upgrade to oceanview and got it as a repeat customer. There was a travel advisory on (later upgraded to a warning) so the place was less busy than usual. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the bathroom well appointed - and it would have been nice to have some hot water in the shower, but it's Cuba. The resort has new lounge chairs around the pools and the beach and plenty of palapas for shade. As usual the beach was spectacular, with people cleaning out any seaweed each morning. Food was great especially the Cuban a la carte (there was a lamb special) and of course the desserts were delicious and never-ending!
The staff were amazing - they had heard the rumours of travel warnings and the oil embargo but carried on regardless. Many of them may not have jobs soon if the US actions continue.
It was a little cool and windy for Cuba, so it was amusing to see our Cuban travel rep in a winter coat, complete with fur collar right next to Canadian tourists still in their bikinis desperately trying to soak up the sun while they can. Great for my tennis though.
The beach is truly the highlight of this resort, without a doubt one of the best. It’s a long, breathtaking stretch of soft white sand with crystal-clear water. There are plenty of palapa and lots of chairs, so you never feel stressed about finding shade or a good spot.
The pool area is just as enjoyable. The atmosphere comes alive starting at 10am when the music begins, and the entertainment team keeps the energy up all day with tons of fun activities. Whether you want to relax or join in, there’s something for everyone.
The food was fantastic throughout our entire stay. There were absolutely no shortages of anything, and the buffet offered a wide variety of options every day.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a room with two twin beds, and they were super comfortable, we slept great every night. Housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping everything tidy.
The only small issue worth mentioning is that the pool washroom doors don’t shut properly, which could definitely use some attention. However, this was very minor compared to how wonderful everything else was.
This was our second time at Memories Flamenco, and it definitely won’t be our last. We already can’t wait to come back again

Verified PurchaserSanctuary White Sands: Lovely resort
Just back a few days ago from a ten day stay at Sanctuary White Sands in Cayo Coco Cuba. The resort was very clean and well maintained. Pool area was very large with a large abundance of chairs as was the beach area. If you were having trouble finding a lounger the staff were readily available to get one for you. Beaches were very beautiful but the time we were there it was windy and a bit cooler than normal but you can't control the weather. Still had a lot of time by the water. The rooms were kept very clean, had lots of hot water for showers and were kept up with essentials. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help you with whatever you may need. Food at buffet was fair but there was always a variety of choices. The alacarte meals were very good but try get reservations early enough to get a place. Was my first visit to Cuba and had a wonderful time. I hope that soon things will work out for the people there and we will be able to visit again in the future.

Verified PurchaserHotel Playa Paraiso: Second time around
The hotel was much the same, nice, and for us good with not much walking required. Very clean and the grounds well maintained at least where everyone walked. Rooms could use some updating but were kept fairly clean. Not very busy when we went and for those who choose to stay home maybe good as it was that very cold week but staff attempted to keep us busy anyway. Not always easy wrapped in a blanket. We did have one incident that we didn't think customer service was wanting to deal with.
Our vacation at Melia Cayó Coco was absolutely amazing. The grounds are beautiful. The resort common areas, restaurants, pool area, bathrooms and bar areas are extremely clean. Rooms are cleaned daily. The staff are very friendly. The ocean is incredible. The food was delicious. Food is available 24 hours a day. There is nightly entertainment. During the day there is dance lessons, games, Spanish lessons, billiard tables, tennis courts. There are plenty of loungers both at the pool and on the beach. There is a little library. You can be as leisure or as active as you choose. I can’t wait to return!

Verified PurchaserMemories Flamenco Beach Resort: Hard to Review
In light of what is happing to Cuba it's hard to give a negative review. However, They only cleaned my room once in 8 days. I left money and a gift for the Maid and asked for some water. But she never came back. My sink was plugged the whole time so I scooped it out with a cup and into the toilet each day. Other issues too but what's the sense. My biggest anger was with the stupid Government. I quit smoking a year ago after 50 years smoking. I used a Vape to get me by. Got to Cuba and they took my Vapes, not allowed in Cuba. Now, holy shit, here I'm on holidays, sit at the beach and have a drink, relax, and puff on my Vape. Now what, illusions all gone. I'm very mad at myself but I did go buy cigarettes to try and enjoy my trip. II they don't allow the sale of e-cigarettes that's their choice, but they should leave Tourists alone. Been to Cuba many times but my Family and friends will never be going again because of this. Spoke to several others in the same situation and they also said never go back again. Cuba has enough problems without stupid rules that make tourist stay away.
All staff work very hard to please all patrons. Service is impeccable. Staff friendly and helpful. Grounds and pools are well kept. Staff always willing to find a lounge chair for us on beach or pool. Entertainment staff are very energetic and enthusiastic and work very hard to include and convince patrons to participate..Food was plentiful and tasty.. Exceptional staff in buffet and al la cartes . In spite of all the hardships to the Cuban people at this time, they remain very dedicated and strong.

Verified PurchaserSanctuary White Sands: Nice Resort
The resort was nice but for only being open not even 2 years, it was looking tired. The room was comfortable and clean but there was mold in a few places that should not be there already. Example on the bed skirt and around the vent in the ceiling.
The public bathrooms need to be better tended to as there was always an odour. Toilet paper holders were broken in a lot of the stalls.
The food was ok. You could find something to eat but very repetitive. I have been to Cuba 11/12 years ago and the food was better then.
The workers were very good and friendly.

Verified PurchaserMelia Jardines del Rey: Surprised this hotel was recommended by Trip Central
I had low expectations going to Cuba however the stay exceeded those low expectations
1 Towel in room despite asking staff for additional towels. Repeated daily
staff was not helpful
rooms were not clean
limited food with extremely long wait times for cooked meals - 30-45 mins
flat draft beer - had to buy canned beer
closed pool bars had to walk across the resort to the lobby to get a drink
Buffet was better then a la carte and that says a lot as the buffet was horrible
Sewers overflowing walked in feces and toilet paper
First time on vacation that I was counting the days to go home
My trust for trip central has gone down
I loved the hotel! The people are great and the rooms are very clean. The only downfall was the layout of the buffet, which created unnecessary backlog. The food was very good for Cuba and the a la cartes were excellent. Thanks for the fabulous stay. I want to go back when things settle there.
We returned from Iberostar Coral Esmeralda 2 days ago (Feb 7th)and had a fantastic, relaxing vacation. The resort was was quiet, had beautiful gardens, friendly staff and plenty of food including bread. There was always something good to eat at the buffet, we also had the option to eat at the Section Resort which was next door. The room was clean and the bed super comfy. The beach was beautiful! Soft white sand and crystal blue water. Loungers and shady spots were always available. The evening entertainment was good.We got a 750ml bottle of water daily in our room fridge, I brought my own water bottle from home and refilled it at the buffet or bar. Bugs were not an issue, so I didn’t have to use bug spray ( bring it just incase though). Tip with American or Canadian bills ( no coins). The Wi-Fi was annoying, it worked but I had to re-log in several times a day ( no big deal). It was great to safely walk off the resort and explore.
I highly recommend this resort and would definitely return!
Trip Central was great and the WestJet flight was smooth with no issues.
Unfortunately, the hotel itself fell short of expectations. Amenities were limited and not as advertised. Our first room was not a family room as per our booking, and there was a mosquito infestation that made the first night very difficult — especially with our 1.5-year-old and 4-year-old, who ended up with many bites.
We also requested a crib for the baby and were told repeatedly it would arrive “the next day,” but after five attempts, it was never delivered.
To make matters worse, on the first night my wife’s foot was run over by a golf cart after the driver started moving before she was fully seated.
Overall, transportation and booking were good, but the hotel experience was disappointing and not a recommendation by me.

- trip central -Wendy H was her usual helpful travel advisor. And warned us of potential for issues
- no hot water in our rooms except for warm x 20min once
And weather wS chilly 15 to 23degrees
-al la carts where not very in tune to their nation
Italian. Only dessert matched -- disappointing
Wine ,,white was rarely available. And the other mixed drinks had reduced PRODUCT available IN Supply
Pool was very cold only 3 people ever went i. In the 3 times we frequented

I would not recommend Cayo coco Cuba. Stay home. I feel they should close this resort. We did not have any hot water to shower all week also 2 days only air came out of tap.weather was windy and cold so no beach days when weather is like that. There was human sewage on the lawns. Smelled awful. Birds pooping on walls and tables where you go to eat at smogisboard. There also shortage of clean beach towels and toilet paper.and absolutely no face cloths we paid for premium superior deluxe rooms and guess what they are all the same. Our friends who we traveled with there room was musty smelling..the coffee came cold at the restaurants. Our fridge in room really did not keep things cold. We were promised 4 alcarts and only got 3. The food was all the same no special food at premium restaurant which we paid extra for we had premium class superior deluxe which we paid extra for. Trip was a total disappointment. We were to have early book in our rooms but that did not happen either. The people of Cuba are amazing friendly people. I would not go back . I would give this place a complete miss 0/10.

Verified PurchaserGrand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great resort!
Great resort and very friendly staff. Traveled with two kids ages 1 &3 and they had a blast!
Best beach i have ever seen! Very minimal rocks, white sand, clear water with lots of huts and chairs. Kid pool has a walk in pool which was great for the 1 year old.
Biggest problem was buffet. Food was good and they always had different options. Issue was with the hot tables. It would be a 30-45 minute wait for the pasta station and other stations which is an issue when you have two kids under 3.
All in all this was easily 5/5 stars.
We went from January 13th to 20th. We picked the perfect week. Only had one cloudy breezy day in which we went to the pool instead. The rest of the week was average 25-27 celcius. Our room was good and clean each day. Nice balcony view from building four. We very enjoyed the buffet. Lots to pick from with four grills going .The dessert tables were very good. But the best part were the cooks and the waitresses. After the first day as soon as we walked in we were greeted right away and shown a table to sit at. They were very pleasant. The resort looked only about 60% full but the staff everywhere from bartenders to maids to the guy on the beach who always had the perfect lounges for us were extremely courteous. In a nutshell we had a great time and look forward to going back in April ( if Trump don't screw up their oil supply from venezela )

We went for a 4 day getaway last week. Weather was cool. Hotel was nice. Check in very delayed. Didn’t get our room until 5:40pm. Room was nice. No issues. Drinks at all the bars had great options. Great cappuccinos. Staff were all very kind and friendly. Food options were actually pretty good. This was our 7th trip to Cuba. So our expectations are realistic. I would come back. Lots of seaweed on the beach which they try to clean up by hand. Beaches past the hotels were FULL of garbage and so disappointing to see it never gets cleaned up as it’s the only place to walk. The other hotels on either side had more activities happening down on the beach. Coral side could use a bigger pool and a little more music it was very quiet. Selection side was almost too loud but a more fun option if you’re staying at the coral side and want a little action. Overall a good stay

Overall quite satisfied. The rooms were large and well maintained. No power , air conditioning or hot water issues. The food in the buffet was varied, plentiful and tasty. Assortment of salad and fruit available, as well chicken, beef , pork, and sometimes lamb, shrimp or calamari. Keeping in mind that you are not going to see steak and lobster at this price point. The a la cartes were good as well. The drinks were good. Good entertainment and excellent friendly service . Some minor shortages ( ran out of baileys after third day and limited choices late night in their 24 hour snack bar) , but really did not affect the quality of the stay. Fantastic beach, but the water a bit cold for my taste in January. I have paid way way more for a lesser experience in other places .

Location is great, in that you are 30 min ride from airport to the resort, but you are not near anything else. Closest city is Moron and it quite far away. Exploring anywhere off resort is not close.
The resort itself is newer, not rundown, is clean and laid out nicely. The beach was beautiful. Very gradual slope into the ocean, perfect for young children to enjoy the ocean. We saw no jellyfish, and shells are easy to find and pick if you are a picker. There were lots of chairs and palapas, no need to reserve a spot with your towels. The reception workers were all very nice, and eager to assist. The resort grounds are kept very clean, and all the workers keep busy to maintain the facility with pride. Bartenders at the beach bar and swim up bar are great! Didn't get the warmest reception at the lobby bar, but, service was "ok" there as well. There are several other bars around the resort, a drink is never far away.
In the room, bed linens were clean and the maid did a nice job of resetting our room daily including fresh towels. The pillows are "different" in that they are one long pillow to share as opposed to individual pillows...but, still a pillow with a clean case. The air conditioner worked, lights worked, there were no bugs, and we always had hot water. The safe worked and the doors all locked we had a toilet seat, toilet paper and the toilet flushed . These things may sound funny to mention, but we have been to resorts in Cuba that have none or only some of these things lol, never ALL. This was a pleasant surprise.
There were eggs each morning for breakfast and the buffet was well stocked. The bars had beer and rum everyday, and some days gin, that is it. They had mix like cola or sprite most days, and fruit juices but not everything always. It is easy to just bring a bottle with you from the duty free. Yes it should be all included at an "all inclusive". BUT everything IS included that THEY HAVE. If you require something else you will have to bring it yourself, or go elsewhere where you KNOW they have it. It has been this way for years. To be surprised that they don't have your specific drink on hand everyday and then be upset that they don't is on you. YOU have the ability to bring what you need or must have, they do not.
Eg: You like a vodka cran, bring vodka and a cranberry Mio juice enhancer...etc etc
The 24 hour bar always had bun sandwiches, sometimes hotdogs, the pizza must have been good at the beach bar as the line was very long everyday, but I never tried it.
If you want a change of scenery I highly recommend visiting the light house, just a 20 min walk away and they have a nice menu. The food menu and drinks are cheap and they have everything.
It is always a good idea to bring snacks for in between meals or late night while playing games in the lobby if it rains, especially if travelling with children, but I think that's a good idea wherever you travel, especially with picky eaters.
Mosquitoes were present on the resort starting at around 6:15pm ish for about an hour? They are much smaller than the ones we have in Ontario, def not as thick as we get them. My suggestion would be to wear a bit of repellent on your way to dinner.
Have been to Cuba many, many times. This resort is my #1 pick.
Thank you to all the staff at the Grand Aston Cayo Paredon and our friends that travelled with us to make this vacation as wonderful as it was :)

Verified PurchaserSanctuary White Sands: My Dream Vacation and so much more
I stayed at Sanctuary White Sands from January 22nd to 29th 2026 in a deluxe ocean-view junior suite. The accommodations were excellent, and I, originally from Winnipeg, Canada, was highly satisfied with the room amenities and staff service. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and courteous, unobtrusive attitude made for an excellent experience. Daily entertainment and dining options were adequate; though vegan and vegetarian choices were limited, they were high quality. My butler, Carlos, was friendly and responsive. To receive similar service, being courteous, patient, and respectful is advisable. The cuisine was generally enjoyable, though different from my usual preferences. The picturesque beach, ocean, boardwalk, pools, and lounging areas added to the experience. The front desk and lobby were well-maintained, with issues resolved quickly. I look forward to returning later this year or next. Sincerely, Nicholas Burgess. P.S. My first visit to Cuba, eager to explore more, meet people, and stay in touch with new friends. I appreciated the excursions, catamaran trip, ocean swimming, and authentic Cuban life, which deepened my appreciation for Canada.

Overall the resort was great. Food became repetitive. The La Creole restaurant had great food. Hats off to the chef!
If you like seafood they have plenty.
Beautiful big pools with walk-in available at the one pool. Chairs at beach are better than those at the pool.

Verified PurchaserSanctuary White Sands: Wonderful resort!
I love that every room had its own patio or balcony. The rooms were spacious and had all basic amenities such as fridge, iron, blow dryer. Large shower.
The grounds were marvelous! Planting was going on daily. Large pool areas and short walk to the beach. Lots of both shade and sun at the beach. The entertainment staff were terrific, as were everyone. There were enough English speaking staff to manage questions and requests. Buffets had a good variety of food. Not spicy, at all.
Could use a few improvements,, but overall one of the best resorts we have visited in Cuba over the last 40 years. The food was varied and plentiful. Entertainment was pretty good, definitely not a loud party place, which is what we were looking for on this trip.

This resort was wonderful. The staff were great, the facilities were in good shape and pretty well maintained. Some of the boardwalks could use some work to make them a bit safer. There was always lots of food. The rooms were clean. The beach was amazing! The ocean was so clean. The evening entertainment was great, but not intended for kids. Verified PurchaserHotel Mojito: Definitely won't be going back
I knew going in that this was an older hotel, so my expectations weren't high to begin with. However, Mojito still managed to disappoint:
-No hot water and no water pressure, and the toilet didn't flush completely.
-Food shortages. On various days there were no eggs, no cheese, no butter at the buffet.
-Unresponsive Guest Services rep. It took me three days to get a beach towel, which was supposed to be in my room upon arrival. And I was able to get it only because I happened to run into the housekeeping lady (who was charming and very helpful).
-Slow, disinterested wait staff in the buffet restaurant. On several occasions I wasn't offered water or coffee until after I'd finished my meal. On the upside, the staff at the Beach Bar were amazing.
-Lighting in the room was atrocious. No overhead lights, two small wall lamps on either sides of the bed that were practically useless. There was also a bedside lamp, but when it ws plugged in I couldn't plug my phone in as well, and that was the only outlet in the room, apart from the television.

Verified PurchaserVila Gale Cayo Paredon: Cuba Jan 16-23 2026
Great trip to take off from Canada, the only issues we had was that our shoes and one of my hand made cigar cutters was stolen from the air port. Our door broke for our hotel, but other than that it was a good trip, we always book with trip central and I recommend it, the political situation of Cuba affected food but that is out of everyones hands and understanding. Thank you for giving us a chance to leave the country
My room was dated but very clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a nice variety of food at the buffet, I really enjoyed the pasta bar and variety of seafood. There was pork and chicken options and lots of cooked veggies. Breakfast was delicious with the best sweet rolls I have ever tasted.
The Mojito is my go to place in CUBA!
Grounds were kept very clean.
Lots for kids to do.
Food was good…it’s Cuba however always found something to eat.
We were in Block 5 we had no warm water the entire week.
Rooms were clean.
No-See-Ums were very bad needed bug spray and that didn’t help. Need to take Benadryl and stuff for after bite.

Verified PurchaserMelia Costa Rey: Amazing resort
This is a great resort. Very impressed. It’s super close to the airport. It’s a large resort but not crowded. Guests were families, couples, older, younger. Fun but nothing crazy.
The beach is beautiful and big, lots of chairs, sun or shade available. We walked the beach everyday multiple times per day. The sand is perfect, the ocean water looks like a huge pool. We went in January and had perfect weather, the water was so great for swimming.
I wish there were small feet faucets when you exit the beach to wash the sand off
your feet.
Also, people should clean up after themselves, and not leave cups and plates on the beach. It’s disrespectful, I guess only lazy slobs do that.
Maybe resorts should stop using plastic cups, people can bring their own travel mugs.
The food was delicious, lots of variety, fresh fish, salads—cooked and raw. Breakfast omelettes, smoothies. Lunch, dinner — delicious!!
Entertainment was good too. No issues with shortages in regards to alcohol or mixers. They always had gin and tonic!
The rooms were very clean, comfortable and practical. No issues. The only minor issue was… I wish the sheets/pillowcases felt/smelled fresher.
The staff are wonderful, especially Dannier, Migray (hilarious, we had such fun with her), and Nano at the snack bar.
We will definitely return to this resort!!
NO HOTWATER ALL WEEK !!...but the entertainment was good..staff very friendly....they just have to fix the hot water issue....food was ok...the beach is great !!!..pizza at the beach was awesome...they bars were good too..
Enjoyed our stay at Memories Caribe. Great beach beautiful grounds. Only issue was lack of hot water on some days. Route 66 sports bar was a great place to hang out and the access to the bus for the cave bar made the trip. No issues with shortages or bugs.

Verified PurchaserHotel Playa Paraiso: I LOVED THIS RESORT!
This was my first time in Cuba, and my first time at a resort. From the bus ride to the resort, I experienced the friendliness of the Cuban people. As I waited to check-in I was offered a drink in the lobby. I was soon whisked away in a golf cart to my room by a lovely gentleman who took my bags up to my suite, which had a lovely ocean view. The suite was airy and extremely clean and I had plenty of hot water. I changed and headed out to explore the resort. I found the coffee bar run by Zoe and Yuris, and enjoyed a freshly made Americano coffee. Absolutely delicious! I soon found at the bar that Pedro and George also made an excellent cappuccino in the mornings. There was plenty of food to choose from at the buffet, and in the morning, fresh omelets where being made, as well as fresh papaya every morning. The whole resort was buzzing with staff, busy cleaning, from the bathrooms to the grounds. The beach was beautiful and welcoming. My maid Jraida was extremely efficient and charming, and every day I looked forward to see what kind of lovely towel design was left on my bed and adorned with hibiscus flowers. Overall, everything was perfect for this solo traveler!
I expected very little from this resort, knowing what I know about what a four star means in Cuba and for the low price I paid, but I was thoroughly impressed. The grounds were well maintained, the rooms were huge with a king bed and hot water for showers. The food was what you would expect in Cuba. The only thing I would say is that service at the snack bar in particular wasn’t the greatest. Overall, I would recommend this resort and I would go back
For the money ,this hotel was excellent. Was it a luxurious 5 star?.nope but for a very reasonable price it offered a clean air-conditioned room with a fridge and a balcony.an incredibly beautiful beach, clean pool and a good variety of food..excellent beach pizza and "bites bar"had very good sandwiches..animation team did a good job keeping it fun around the pool as well..I'll go back??

Verified PurchaserMelia Jardines del Rey: It was very unpleasant experience
Dirty , mildew pillows ,linens , holes in sheets, requested room spray for Pharaoh ants and large ants throughout our room.Either used our own mug or positioned shower head into toilet to fill tank for flushing..take toilet paper because it won't be refilled if your cleaning lady has a couple days off. suggested 2 twin beds because rooms weren't ready..Took king-size bed 3rd floor..needed blankets the closest doors I demanded maintenance they were hanging loose, Entertainment was tooo loud and what was offered was disgusting. No Cuban dancing or stage people interact..The beach totally disappointing..Garbage filthy lawn chairs, I realize nature is there but it was awful..Used the pool .about 5 employees plus 6 gardeners acknowledged us..Sunwing rep gave me the feeling she hated to see me..but Air Transat rep was a real charm made us feel welcomed. Our bags were taken in and departure day picked up w Victor great service..2 young ladies front desk exceptional service, young guy making pancakes , dinner and evening buffet outstanding performance..First time to Cayo Coco, 21st time to Cuba im a well seasoned traveler whom respects and understand Cuba ..We certainly didn't expect a 5 star to be this horrible..We look forward to visiting the area in Cuba we know best in a few months..thank you. Towel art was delightful as the gal cleaning..I'd be happy to send pictures most people we spoke with definitely mentioned they wouldn't be returning..Good luck ..oh and suggest 30cdn to buy meal at BBQ was best money spent..

Verified PurchaserGrand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Not what I was expecting
Most amenities were closed. The hours stated for the gym opening, the store etc were always mixed matched never opened when they were suppose too.
The Al a carte most of them were closed, toro was closed there were a bunch of features not running.
There were major shortages and our room was never stocked. Not once in our whole vacation even after asking and tipping. They had almost no soda, no variety and the meals were terrible. I am not one to complain but it made our stay very hard. There were a few staff members who were amazing. Very happy and polite. There were a few who were rude and would play favorites giving special treatment to some guests.
The beach was amazing. One of the most beautiful. The pools were well maintain and also beautiful. I love Cuba and have been on other occasions and had a fantastic experience. This time me and my group felt under whelmed and disappointed with some features. Some of the issues reported by other guests in my party were issues with there rooms, not getting the rooms they paid for, rooms flooding, AC not working, not being stocked, unfriendly room attendants etc.
It wasn't all bad but we were expecting more.

Verified PurchaserGrand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Perfect Family Vacation - Kids Loved Every Moment!
We just returned from the most wonderful family vacation at Grand Aston Cayo Paredón Beach Resort, and our daughter had the time of her life! This resort is absolutely perfect for families.
Our daughter was entertained from morning to night. The kids' activities were incredibly well-organized with the animation team always ready to engage with the children. She made new friends, participated in beach games, enjoyed the pool activities, and attended the evening shows which she absolutely loved. We didn't have to worry about her for a second - the staff was always watching out for the kids' safety and having fun with them.
The family rooms were spacious and comfortable, giving us plenty of space. The multiple pools meant no long waits, and the beach was pristine and perfect for families. The food was kid-friendly with options that our daughter actually wanted to eat, unlike some resorts. The staff remembered her name by day two and made her feel special.
The parents appreciated the ability to relax knowing the kids were safe and happy. We could enjoy a quiet dinner while the kids were at the kids' club, or we could join activities as a family. The flexibility was perfect.
Our daughter is already asking when we can go back! This is the type of resort where the whole family has an amazing experience - kids are happy, parents are relaxed, and everyone leaves with unforgettable memories. Highly recommended for families with children of all ages!

Sanctuary White Sands, was good! We had a Little problem with our room, but our butler Dailin was on it and made things great. People complain about the food, but my experience was super. Lots of variety, great attention and good quality. Cubain food is NOT spicy. If you want spicy bring a few items. Like tajin, hot sauce. But you certainly can’t say the food was bad or lacking. Booked and paid in FULL in June/July---get to resort, wrong room. Hotel did take care of that. They the day to fly home get 4 different delay messages then flight cancelation --Next day get notice of flight at 9PM then 3-4 other "delay" messages and at one point had us flying to Toronto then flip to Ottawa . Had to Pay $100 for baggage as the fees already paid referred to cancelled flight ?? The extra we paid to pick seats ($47-i think) again referred to the cancelled flight , so seats moved twice. Then an extra $52 for parking. Contact West Jet which send a email saying "if booked through an agency THEY must put in claim for disruption for "passengers rights" Contact Trip Central and get told, sorry we can do nothing contact West Jet
Other than that GREAT TRIP and would recommend this resort to anybody--they treat you amazing. Food was great---beach is amazing

Verified PurchaserGrand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: VIP was the way to go!
We booked a quick vacation. Wanted Sun and cheaper option. We gave up Cuba Varadero 10 years ago, but love the beaches and people so thought we would give Cuba a try again. We tried to upgrade with Trip central to VIP and were told to ask when we arrived. We paid an extra $60.00 a day per room USD but it was well worth it. It is an Adults only area with your own pool, portion of beach and your own club house and restaurant to order what you would like, (limited menu but still nice option) This seemed to have more options and less running out of vodka, etc. There was only cola 2 nights we were there and only certain bars. They have 4 A la Carte we ate at 3 of them. They were nice but remember you are still in Cuba, our room was very nice and the beds were great, which is huge for me. Room was cold and had to get extra blankets which is good, rather too cold then hot. Beach was beautiful, people were awesome Magdiel (MADD) as we called him started in VIP and was wonderful, one of the reasons we went there. called us by name which we loved the personal feel. But some A-hole didn't like that and complained and then he had to go back to Buffet. Him and Alex had the best English of all the people working in VIP. was sad when Madd was moved out. Buffet was like a heard of cattle when it opened seemed busy, I think we only went there once or twice. We ate lunch when we did at the snack bar, for Fries and Tuna, Chicken or ham and cheese sandwiches when available. but most of the time we had pizza at VIP or fries. I would go back here, pools there was many but we stayed either at VIP or swim up or beach depending on the day. Got towels when needed and a chair at any pool. no issues.
Wine was not bad, Red, White and rosa all were pretty good for a free wine at an all inclusive in Cuba.
Lobby was busy every night hard to find a spot and the adults show didn't start till 9:30 pm and we were just warn out by then. LOL
Tipping and gifts go a long way so please be generous.
Trips we went to lighthouse, nothing special my partner did the massage there which he said was good., but the mosquitos were the worst there.
Resort no real issues with Mosquitos until the night we were leaving and sitting in the lobby.
We did the catamaran and dolphins and had the best lobster lunch ever included.

Verified PurchaserMemories Caribe Beach Resort: NOT a 4-star hotel.
This hotel is about a 2.5 (star). The beach was beautiful...jelly fish, turtles, crabs, sea cucumbers, pelicans, ballyhoo, etc and beautiful, clear water with white sand! Garbage could be picked up more frequently from the bins, the bush, the sand, etc. The piano bar was also a very nice place to relax during the day and every evening there was live (very good), entertainment. The glass/windows were never cleaned anywhere, mold was present everywhere and often cheaply painted over to cover it up. Many rooms (including premium), did not have hot water and a few even had cockroaches. Towels and bedding often had stains and some rooms never had their dirty towels changed. Food/buffet was often very repetitive or limited (serving wieners 3 different ways at once), and as expected, not much flavour. A la carte was better. Friendliness wasn't bad, but employees seemed to be mediocre (in all areas...groundskeepers, waitresses, bus drivers, etc).

This resort is a beautiful resort, the beach is stunning but unfortunately that's the end of the positive. The ala cart restaurants were a big disappointment, we actually preferred eating in the buffet which was OK. The beach dining was a disaster - lobster and pork was chard- there was no menu given to order our meal so we didn't know what we were having until it was served to us. The 7 days we were there the cabana sheets were never changed even after we had requested on several occasions. Cleaner was seen using the toilet water to map and clean the floors, rooms were never cleaned, beds were only made and we had to request for clean towels. Events noted on the daily website never took place. Entertainment at the resort is virtually non existent. Great coffee and alcohol beverages offered were pretty good. Staff was courteous and very polite as expected in Cuba.

The hotel is very nice and clean. There is a nice area to walk. Hotel is close to beach. Beach is long and has many sunbeds and thatched umbrellas. Staff is friendly. However, only one elevator was working at the hotel. They provided very limited toiletries: only one very small shampoo and shower gel for the whole week. There was not enough space in lobby for evening shows and parties. There was not enough sunbeds at the swimming pools. And there were huge lines for everything: food, drinks, towels, restaurant reservations. Our stay was from Jan 6 to Jan 13.

I had booked Ocean view and requested a quiet room on one of the top floors. The room was clean and everything in working order, and a spectacular view of the garden & pools down below, unfortunately also heard the late night parties in the bistro down below.
The staff is friendly and the food is standard for Cuban cuisine. The beach allows for a long walk, however, 1st week of January was very windy with white cap waves coming in, and subsequently a bit cool.
The pools and gardens are inspectable clean, and staff is always ready to serve.
Cayo Coco is a great spot for kite board surfing and young folks and families, but also accommodating retirees and is wheel chair accessible.
We enjoyed our stay, but next time moving on to a less windy location in a bay.

I found this resort well maintained, very friendly and accommodating. When we first arrived we were put in a garden view room when we had paid for ocean view. When we brought it to their attention they rectified it and compensated us with a private on the beach dinner. The food that they were serving was tasty, I was never hungry from lack of food. The only complaint I would have is the beds are very uncomfortable. All in all it was a great resort and I would definitely return for another trip.

Verified PurchaserIberostar Selection Esmeralda: Do not recommend
Positive: beach is beautiful , clean rooms and housekeeping staff is extremely nice.
Negative: Food and Drinks:Same bland food every day, no hamburgers, no pizzas, no fries, no hot dogs, no chicken nuggets for the children. Limited juices and the only soda was sprite on occasion. For the alcohol extreme limited choices throughout the stat I was able to have some vodka once or twice.
Entertainment: Hardly no activities during the day and at night.
Hotel: Could not use the hair dryer as it caused a power outage. Buffet staff were miserable and if you asked for cutlery or a glass of water it would take 15 to 20 minutes; as they were to busy talking amongst themselves.
Overall Hotel was good. No real entertainment. All a la carts the same everyday. Food in buffet the same everyday. No hot water . No beach bar open . Snack bar ham and cheese sandwiches.. fries sometimes.. cheese pizza...

Verified PurchaserValentin Cayo Cruz: Great vacation
Very nice resort
Pool area is very cool with swim up bar, and teared levels with volleyball nets and games. Lots of seating around the pool and the weather was great.
Drinks were what you expect in Cuba, beer was good mix drinks were a challenge and on occasion there was no ice.... but that's to be expected in cuba.
Rooms were good nothing flashy but cute.
Food was good all week, always eggs for breakfast and chicken and rice etc for lunches and dinners.
I'd suggest bringing, salt, pepper, ketchup and snacks for your room. The few diet pepsi we brought were nice to have and of course toilet paper is a must just incase.
would not get upgraded bracelet, it's not needed unless you want to avoid lineup at bar? then it was worth it.
Overall a good spot to go.

Verified PurchaserGrand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great resort!
Good value for the money. Very busy resort, lineups everywhere. Food and accommodations were good. Stunning beach with lots of shade and beds. Drinks were decent, lots of rum but not great cocktails . Overall I would recommend this resort for the lively atmosphere and location(20 minutes to the Cayo Coco airport) and of course for the AMAZING BEACH and Cuban people.
Just got back from Memories Caribe and had an awesome trip overall. Great vibe, great people, and a beach that honestly steals the show.
The good stuff
• Shockingly comfy bed
• Gorgeous lagoon view from our balcony (room 2016) — 10/10 would wake up to that again
• Super central location near the beach, buffet, pool, and premium breakfast
• Staff were AMAZING — friendly, warm, and genuinely cared
• The beach ? Unreal. Stingrays, starfish, jellyfish, pelicans… basically a nature documentary
The not-so-great
• One king bed shared with my niece (bonding level: extreme)
• Bathroom privacy = nonexistent (glass toilet, open shower… good luck)
• No hot water for showers all week
• Pool was very cold
• Nightlife shut down early (piano bar at 11 pm, nightclub shortly after)
• Concierge wasn’t much help on our delayed-flight chaos day
Pro tip
Bring ketchup, peanut butter, oatmeal, toilet paper, and bug spray. I survived the mosquitoes… my niece did not.
Overall
A charming resort with a fun vibe, amazing staff, and a stunning beach. A few hiccups, but the memories (pun intended) were worth it.

Verified PurchaserMemories Flamenco Beach Resort: Hotel is lost its four star rating
This is just an awful place to take a vacation for one week other than the beach there's absolutely zero customer service during the week. the beach bar both of them completely out of ice for 2 days major problem is none of the telephones work in the Suites you can't get a hold of the front desk for any little thing unless you actually walk to the front desk and then half of them don't even know what you're talking about the food menus where there used to be four or five stars menus are completely gone in all the à la carte restaurants here the menus are still posted but there's nothing available on them so you don't know ahead of time which restaurant to go to cuz they don't post what they're actually serving until you sit down and then you get the big disappointment you are left with practically nothing to choose from for dinner for appetizer or dessert. the newly renovated rooms are very nice. The breakfast and Buffet area food is okay it's the only real place to eat but the menu never changes there was no shrimp no Lobster there was not even any type of beef steak other than hamburger pork and chicken it's pretty well used in every dish The resort bars for a day and a half completely out of draft beer that was unbelievable, as well as some premium stock Liquors you could not get like vodka and a few others where sold out at times.Resort grounds are kept beautifully trimmed the beach of course is beautiful even though half of it is gone it's nothing like the pictures you see on the website .there's no such thing as premium or personal concierge you can't get a hold of one anyway because the room phones in the entire Resort are dead.the biggest disappointment is the premium Club office personnel after the very first day they disappeared most Personnel that was left to serve you practically don't have a clue of what's going on in this Resort .there was also only one show in the week 7 nights only one show all the rest of the shows were canceled. most bartenders and restaurants staff had poor communication skills like everyone else at this Resort especially the management at the front desk and the premium service office staff could barely understand anything you tried to ask them they just shook their head with no clue of what to do.not trained well about operations in the entire Resort

Verified PurchaserSanctuary White Sands: Would recommend
Overall a great holiday. We recently returned from the SWS, and was pleasantly surprised when he arrived. The overall condition of the hotel was very good. We were in block 6, and a great view of the pool and partial view of the ocean. The room is modern, everything worked as it should. The room included a safe, hair dryer, charge receptacle, etc. Beds were comfortable and bedding was adequate. We requested a coffee make which was provided. The staff were amazing, friendly, and ready to address any questions or concerns. Good service at the various food locations. The food overall we found more than adequate. As people note you will not starve. They do a great job working with what they have to provide. Beach was great though there were days when the seaweed was present. There was generally a breeze so when outside there was few bugs.
Rooms were beautiful - spacious, clean, lots of hot water and great air conditioning. However, they do need to have blankets available in rooms.
Pools were clean and had lots of lounge chairs.
Food was not hot at the buffets and lacking vegetables. Not all food was labelled and we were often uncertain as to what we were eating. Grilled food was good and hot. Breakfast as good and hot.
Sandwiches at snack bar were good.
Beach was nice with lots of lounges and shade available

Verified PurchaserMemories Caribe Beach Resort: Will return
Am a repeat visitor to this resort. The people are great. Very friendly and helpful. Had the pleasure of meeting Maria from public relations. I personally think the ala carte restaurants are very good. The resort is very clean and the beach is beautiful. My only criticism is the inconsistency of hot water and the lack of water pressure for showers.

Verified PurchaserVila Gale Cayo Paredon: Amazing resort
Beautiful hotel. Great crew. The food is probably the best in Cuba considering the conditions they have. This will now be my favorite vacation spot in Cuba. The distance from the airport to the hotel is 25 km. There is only one thing that the buses that take people from the airport to the hotel just stink. I understand that there are no funds for cleaning products, but this stench is unbearable. Apart from the fact that the Air Canada flight to Toronto was delayed by 3 hours, everything was great.

Verified PurchaserMemories Caribe Beach Resort: Good Resort - Getting a little dated
Dec 22 - 29th!!
Good Resort, Getting a little old.
Beach's and Beach bar's & food shacks were good, clean and white sands!!.
Lot's of Bar's - food options!
Staff is very friendly and grateful to help!
Lacked coke & soda water?
No hot-water for showers.
Pool was cold
New staff change-over, slow on room access & set-up, supplies
Not a 4/5 star resort, dirty hotel room, mold, stains, drywall damage, damaged paint, non working safe, locks broken on doors, worn furniture. Black mold and all other issues reported to hotel but nothing was addressed.
This is our 10th to Cuba and our second time to this resort but has gone downhill since. The biggest issue was the shortage of toilet paper in the entire resort. There were times where every stall was out of toilet paper. There are no soap dispensers in the pool area bathroom. We paid for the premium package which we did not receive at all. We were to have the premium drinks and that bar was actually not even open. Customer service for the first time in our many trips was very disappointing. We know what to expect regarding food in Cuba but the food shortages was shocking. Ran out of food everyday half way through service.
I am so disappointed with our entire trip. Although the snorkeling trip was amazing thanks to Daniel our guide. A big shout out Maria and Yanet as well.
