Azul Beach Resort Negril: Good family vacation with exceptions
We stayed in the premium room which was newly renovated but some of the furniture was broken. Beds are not the most comfortable and creeks but this didn’t trouble us much. Most of the staff are friendly .. going above and beyond, with the exception of two or three staff members mostly managing the grilled meats/ pasta station at the main buffet. Beach is lovely and bar tenders are friendly and accommodating. Room service was fine but there were a few days where the supplies were not replenished, but we called reception and had this resolved. The resort seems short staffed so probably something that Karisma needs to address!! They encourage you to use the app for checking restaurant times but the app information is not accurate. This was a little frustrating and even more so since a manager never called us back to address this situation. Staff also gave us inaccurate restaurant information. The food at the Asian and Caribbean restaurant wasn’t the greatest but we loved the Italian restaurant. With a little more attention to detail, additional staffing and some upgrades this resort has the potential to provide a 5 star experience

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Great resort, amazing beach!
We just returned from our stay at Azul Beach Resort. The staff were truly amazing and very friendly! The beach of coarse was so beautiful. One of the best I have been to! Because we went off season, there was only 1 buffet open. The food was not bad (if food is more important than beach, then this may not be for you) The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed so comfy. The pools weren't overly big, but always clean and most with a swim up bar. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was that there were steps (just one) everywhere. It would be easy to take a fall if you weren't paying attention. Other than that, I would definitely go back. I am not one to go looking for perfection when travelling to another country. If you go looking for issues, then you will find them. We had an amazing time while we were there and can't wait to go back!!

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: Absolutely Disappointed
Prior to departure, I became aware through online reports that the hotel’s main pool might be closed for renovations. I contacted Tripcentral, the agency through which we booked, and they reached out to Air Canada Vacations and the hotel directly. We were advised there were no notices or advisories regarding any pool closures and were reassured there would be no issues affecting our stay. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we discovered the hotel’s main pool was completely closed and under active repair. It resembled a construction zone or skateboard park rather than a functioning resort amenity. This was a significant issue because this property does not have a swimmable beach, making the pools one of the primary reasons guests choose this resort. Had we been properly informed prior to departure, we would have changed resorts or reconsidered travelling altogether. In addition to the pool closure, the resort experience was far below what would reasonably be expected from a 4.5 to 5-star all-inclusive property: * The resort appeared to be operating at less than 25% occupancy. * Restaurants were frequently closed, sometimes leaving only the buffet available. * The LandShark restaurant was closed every evening during our stay. * Entertainment was minimal or nonexistent despite advertised activities and events. * Promised activities such as a pickleball tournament and silent dance party never occurred. * The Mexican night entertainment was extremely underwhelming. * Bars ran out of basic products, including Smirnoff vodka. * Lounge beds near the pool remained blocked off as “reserved” despite sitting empty for entire days, while staff enforced policies preventing guests from reserving chairs. * Restaurant reservations were allegedly “full,” yet the restaurants themselves were nearly empty, clearly indicating staffing limitations rather than capacity issues. * Service throughout the resort was consistently inadequate due to apparent understaffing. Additionally, one day a guest vomited in the SOS pool, resulting in the closure of that pool as well as the connected swim-out areas for chemical treatment. This left both the SOS pool and the 5 O’Clock Somewhere main pool unavailable at the same time, severely limiting access to essential resort amenities. Our return airport transfer experience was also unacceptable. We were picked up without any Air Canada Vacations representative or greeter. The driver did not appear to know where we were going and stopped at another hotel to wait approximately 30 minutes for a no-show passenger while we remained in the vehicle. Overall, this vacation experience did not remotely reflect the premium five-star all-inclusive product we paid for. We paid full price for a resort experience that was clearly compromised due to renovations, closures, low occupancy, reduced staffing, and lack of services.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: 30th wedding anniversary
We wanted peace on the island we said I do Jamaica. This resort is just that calm peaceful and food good don’t listen to people. it’s not 5 start but 4 I’d say. Freshing up needed in rooms some fresh paint and new bedding some pictures and it would be five star. People are kind helpful and fun. They truly work hard and it shows they care about guest who stay here. Loved our vacation and would return to the Azul. One thing it has not best entertainment at this place. Besides that it’s good great beach and food had tinges of selections And no bugs a plus

Azul Beach Resort Negril: underwhelming...
Overall, this resort delivers a decent all-inclusive experience, but it falls short in a few areas that are hard to ignore given the location. The beach is absolutely the highlight—wide, clean, and exactly what you’d hope for. It really lives up to expectations and is easily the best part of the stay. The rooms, on the other hand, are just okay. They’re functional and reasonably comfortable, but nothing stands out or feels particularly updated. Our room was fine but spoke to a lot of people there who complained about no hot water. Food was inconsistent. Some meals were enjoyable, but others missed the mark. The most reliable option ended up being the Mahogany buffet at the far end of the resort, where there always seemed to be something decent available and the fireside grill for lunch. Dining elsewhere felt more like a gamble. Entertainment was underwhelming and didn’t add much to the overall experience. It lacked energy and variety, which made evenings feel a bit dull. The Moulin Rouge and Michael Jackson shows were the only real entertainment during the week with the rest being mostly just a DJ. That said, the staff truly stood out and made a positive difference throughout the stay. Everyone was friendly and attentive, but a special mention goes to Safari & Rashika at the main bar, Kevon from the concierge team, Travis on the beach, and Anna Kay at the coffee bar, who all went above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. One of the bigger issues was the overall maintenance of the property. For a resort in such a prime location, it really should be in better condition. The resort’s decking had several broken and loose boards that created trip hazards and require attention. It appears the decking issues are not caused by the hurricane but by lack of upkeep and repair. In the end, if you’re not particularly picky or high-maintenance, you’ll probably have a fine time here, especially if your main goal is to enjoy the beach. But given the location and price, there’s a lot of room for improvement.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Not A Luxury Resort
Let me first start off saying that this is NOT a luxury resort. It is a 3.5 star resort at best. The staff on hand are actually very friendly and accommodating. The beach is fantastic. You can’t go wrong in Negril on Seven Mile Beach. The pools are small and the decking throughout the resort needs serious repair with a lot of trip hazards. I want to be clear. The deck issues are not due to the hurricane. The deck issues are due to poor maintenance on the resorts part. The food was subpar at best. The only food that was consistently decent was the buffet at Mahogany, and the Oceanside Grill. We paid extra to be in a swim up room in one of the Adult blocks of the hotel. We were placed in the family block. The only time there was a possibility to change rooms was with 3 days left in our vacation. At that point we did not want to pack up, go to a different block to unpack and pack again in 3 days time to leave. The entertainment was just ok. The Moulin Rouge and Micheal Jackson shows were good, but the rest of the nightly entertainment consisted of pretty much a DJ. Bars close at 10 with the Nesta Rasta lounge staying open until 1 am. Negril, its beaches and its people are amazing. We will definitely go back, but we will never go to the Azul again, and we will never recommend it to anyone. While all the staff were friendly, there are certain staff members who should be singled out. Safari at the main bar is the best bartender at the resort. There was also Rushika who was fantastic at the main bar as well. Kevon in the concierge staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable. Anna Kay at the coffee bar and Oceanside grill always had a smile on her face, and Travis, the beach “butler” was always quick to get you drinks and very friendly. We also enjoyed the off resort excursion with Captain Sheldon Hines. He’s extremely friendly and knowledgeable on the Island’s history. All in all, there are a lot of resorts to choose from on one of the best beaches in the world. Azul needs to up their game if they want to be considered as a luxury destination. For the cost to stay at this resort, it is not worth the price you pay.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Overprice for what it is
The resort was okay. We selected Nick Punta Cana because of their autism double check program. We brought our 2 autistic kids. There was no program and they offered no help. Our concierge was there only to make sure we attended a 2h time share presentation. The activities for the kids with characters were not autism friendly and cost hundred of dollars extra. The water park was for toddlers. If you kids are over 5 I would not recommend going. If you kids are autistic, I would not recommend going. That said. The staff (house keeping, bartending, waiters) were all wonderful and friendly. The food was okay. It was a little hard to get food into our autistic kids. The options for them were slim. The pool was great. The bartenders fantastic. I know I said that already but its worth mentioning. I would get an alcoholic drink for me and the kids would order virgin drinks. The bartenders were very nice and helpful for the kids. I think we would have been better suited to save money and skip the themed Nick resort for a non-themed regular resort in Punta Cana.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: I dont think I will be back at this resort
The service was a hit and miss. We had to call almost daily to get our room refreshed. We also had to call every day to have the mini bar refilled with water. When we first arrived, the door did not unlock and it took about 45 minutes for them to fix it. Once we got into our room, someone had left the patio door open, and it was super hot. They also had not filled the mini bar before we entered our room. We landed late and this was all at 11 PM. We were absolutely exhausted. It also took us two days to get a hairdryer in our room. The reservation system on their app stopped working the day we got there. We weren’t aware of it so we asked a concierge for help. It’s as if we were inconveniencing them. Then they changed everything and it was on a first come first serve. It was a complete disaster. I will say that there are some staff that try really hard and then there’s other staff that make you feel like you aren’t inconveniencing them and they hate their job. My eight-year-old daughter had a blast and didn’t notice anything which is what was important.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: Great resort
This hotel was clean, rooms were all centrally located. Food was amazing. Service was great, both in restaurants and pool side and front desk and concierge. Only downfall for some is there is no beach. We are pool people, so knew this when choosing this resort. Lots of areas to sit and get a lounge chair.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Great Resort!
This was our second visit to Nickelodeon. Travelling with 2 children under 5 the resort is so beautiful and tons to do to keep our kids occupied. The food was great, beach is also amazing (big waves but sandy and huge!) We love that there are tons of families with small children some who are not always happy at the dinner table (like ours) so you don’t feel like you’re upsetting or disrupting because the majority are either experiencing the occasional meltdown too or have been there before! The resort is a good size but not too big everything’s within walking distance (even for little feet) We will definitely return for a 3rd visit

Our second time going to a Margaritaville and they always impress. Every detail is taken care of, and the theming is top notch. Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: Nice resort, but no beach!
Overall the resort is very nice, rooms are clean and modern. Almost all rooms will have a partial ocean view with the rooms either facing the sunrise or sunset. The food is decent - the breakfast buffet left a little bit to be desired, much few options then other resorts with things like bacon being behind the counter being limited by the egg chef. The Landshark brewery being onsite is a nice touch, the lunches were excellent as was the draught beer. The pool area was very nice, with the service around the pool being one of the best I've had - wait staff were very attentive. No cards required for pool towels and you could take as many as you'd like. Entertainment was daily - there are many options to either be in the party atmosphere or within a more tranquil spot as the pool area is expansive. There is currently no beach, and the ocean water is currently a black sludge - we aren't big beach people so it didn't bother us, but were heard many folks from Europe complaining as they were unaware that there was no beach at the resort. With so many options I would be hard pressed to go back again until the beach situation is sorted.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: No Beach
This is a well run resort. Staff were excellent, and food was amazing. The onsite upscale coffee shop was a favourite. The photo for this hotel is not accurate. There is literally NO beach. There is a sister Margarittaville hotel a few minutes away. I would suggest to the owners to offer , for a small fee, a beach pass to this hotel for a day. Unlike most all-inclusive resorts, there is no nightly show on a main stage area. The few shows that were available were at ground level inside the main buffet restaurant. If you want a hotel that is relatively quiet day and night, this is a good choice.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Great vacation!
The kids loved this place! The food was good! Resort wasn’t too busy. One downside is that if you want to have breakfast with the characters there was a charge and also if you wanted to get slimed. Kids shows were pretty lame to be honest. Some days we didn’t have a show they just played Dora in the theatre. Adult show was at 8:45pm. Overall the kids had an amazing time here.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Disappointed - Not a Five-Star Experience
I recently stayed at Nicoleadian Resort with my family, and I regret to say that the experience was incredibly disappointing. The food was poor and repetitive; it was the same thing day after day with no variation. My daughter ended up getting food poisoning, which was absolutely alarming and ruined our stay. When we checked in, the room was not clean. The floors were wet, and it was clear the room hadn’t been properly prepared for guests. We had to request a room change, which was a hassle and added to the frustration. The overall service was lacking—staff were unresponsive, and we had to follow up multiple times for basic needs. To make matters worse, I have a video of a snake in the pool area, which is beyond concerning, especially at a so-called "luxury" resort.

Martine Reid No beach but an abundance of beautiful pools. The only con: one worth noting-is the lack of a diversified menu. There were several restaurants, but the selection was limited. Azul resort was overall a great resort to stay at. The pool is open 24 hours so the late night swims were amazing. Resort staff were all super friendly and accommodating. The food was okay, not the best but the Ackee restaurant was great as it had authentic Jamaican food. The beach was beautiful as well! The crowd at the resort was mostly older adults and families and lacked a lot of younger crowds/music/activities. Overall I’d give the resort a 6.5/10.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: The best 4 day vacation to recharge
The resort was everything we expected for our short 4 day stay. We needed a recharge and it was perfect. Although small, it offered the amenities we needed as well as assistance in understanding our Prestige membership. We are not beach people so we did not feel we missed out at all. At times, the pool was cool -- refreshing but would have been best to be a little warmer. The food and customer service was top notch. We enjoyed all restaurants equally. The buffet was nice for breakfast and lots of variety. We felt safe and taken care of -- went off the resort once for a golf game and the amazing weather helped. The best was the bracelets -- no more key fob or card to search for when going into your room.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort!!
Beautiful resort, nicely laid out and everything is near by. Christian at the pool bar is excellent. The Land Shark is the place to go to in the evening, always something going on and the food is great. We really enjoyed the Margaritaville theme with Jimmy Buffet lyrics all over surf boards and along the walls. No complaints about the resort itself, but it has no beach at all and also they could be better organized for the transportation to and from the resort. We were left waiting on both occasions and the hotel staff weren't sure if we would have to hire a taxi to bring us to the airport, luckily after they made a few calls someone finally arrived to bring us. Like I said, the resort is amazing and has a beautiful atmosphere, amazing food and friendly staff, would definitely go back.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: 90th birthday celebration
We would first like to say that the beginning of our trip was a rocky start. Receiving an email from Air Transat just a day before our vacation about the downgrade of the hotel was in itself worrying but as there were over twenty people to consider with their offer we really had no choice as some of our party had already arrived. Contacting them to see what their impressions were aided in the decision that we had to move forward with the celebration as planned. We felt we could deal with issues as the arose. We all arrived safely and always thankful to the pilots and crew that make that happen. We arrived fairly late in the night but give credit to our bus driver for our safe arrival. It is a skill to drive over there. Not sure why but we were given an upgrade to a better room. We had paid for the Premium Oceanview suite and got a swim up room. Nice but in the very last building, very last room next to a very, very noisy highway. I would not consider that an upgrade. We understood the resort to be at full compacity so not worth the aggravation to change rooms. Please avoid any room the backs onto that highway. The birthday celebrations are planned for the Saturday. We contacted the hotel and met with Manuel (Food and Beverage Manager). We give a BIG thank you to Manuel and his crew that made the entire afternoon and evening very special for a special 90th birthday. Family and friends from all over were there to make this a day to remember. Lots of food and laughter. Service was great and everyone enjoyed themselves. As for the resort itself they should be thankful for some of their amazing staff members who made it feel like a holiday. However I would really recommend that the resort rethink how they do their towel service. Seven days there and only one day we had access to beach towels. Not sure why it was a big issue. Other resorts give you a card to get towels or exchange towels. The resort did deserve to be downgraded but I think a 3 1/2 star at most. It is tired and needs a good amount of time spent to bring it up to a higher rating. No one went hungry but they were always running out of things. A very special thank you to the amazing staff that are working in the restaurants for their hard work. Our hostess at the Mahogany buffet restaurant and servers at the bars around the resort. We would also like to give a special shout out to Lyndon our tour driver of "PurposeDriven Tours" Jamaica. He was exceptional on our tour to the Appleton Rum Estate. A tour I would highly recommend doing. He also provides Airport Transfers, Jamaican tours all over the island and private tours if you want. We were glad to at least be out of the snow and into some warm weather. Aside from the daily heavy rain showers it was so nice to be able to swim in such a beautiful location on the Seven Mile beach.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: 3.5 star resort with amazing beach and a long bumpy ride to it.
Room- furniture is outdated. Bed was comfy as were the pillows and blankets. Mini bar was stocked daily. Towels and toiletries were always on hand and the room was very tidy. Patio was very noisy from traffic as the road is very close to the resort. Food & Drinks- bar staff were very nice and drinks were good. We did the snack bar ( burgers and fries) ok. We just did the buffet the rest of the week as it was good selection and tasty. It can be quite busy at times. Staff are awesome. Beach- Hands down the best beach I have ever walked on . Amazing sunsets. Lots of boats on the water ( vendors are present all day). Not lots of shade or loungers so you need to get up early or go with out ( lots need replacing) sometimes you had to wait for towels. Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: OK Resort but had not noticed there was no beach.....
Although this hotel was new (2023), there were a few issues. It was a nice hotel, clean. What was disappointing was the there was always something no longer available, whether it was drinks, (menu removed after the order was placed), certain main food items at the A La Carte restaurants (ex: Osso Bucco, etc). Certain wait-staff at non A La Carte restaurants were non attentive - for example : Other customers would come in after us, served by their wait-staff, and departed before we were served. Then, Half of our table was served and either received their main course before the appetizer, and were finished well before the others got their meals. Reason for this was the restaurant was full - which it was not. I've been to a lot of All-inclusive resorts and this one was unfortunately not up to standards.

The a la carte meals and ambiance are great but many of the restaurants are not open, or have staggered schedules if they have wedding parties. I did not like that you could not reserve your a la cartes. I am not on vacation to wait in a line. The beach is terrible but I didn't go for the beach so it didn't bother me in the least. Selection Riviera Cancun: Good family resort
We have been to this resort 15 times so far. We love the atmosphere here. The service staff are amazingly friendly and because we have been here so many times many know us by first and last name. Our butler was very efficient in making the restaurant reservations for us. The Prestiege member pool butlers are the absolute best. Every morning our lounge chairs were prepared with towels and plenty of cold water to start each day. They were extremely efficient and eager to serve every need we had, especially Antonio (Tony). Alexandria greeted us every morning (for breakfast at the Spoon) with a smile and a reserved table, she was the sweetest staff member we have ever encountered and she should go far in this industry. The room was always clean. Unfortunately, the food was hit and miss at times (cold), however one I pointed it out that I was not pleased the last four dinner meals were excellent. Pools are fine, beach has been deteriorating due to climate change, no fault of the resort.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: Nice laid back resort for relaxation
Resort is very nice. New and clean. Always felt safe and all staff were always very welcoming. Entertainment team is pretty good and pool bars have good drinks and service. Restaurants are pretty good. Buffet is ok but Italian was excellent and Landshark pub was great. Breakfast was always fantastic and great service. Luis was amazing to us. Some things that fell short for the price was their reservation system is not good and hard to get times. Pools are cold so most adult resorts we've been to have heated pools so this was disappointing at times. Joe merchant's which is coffee house and sweets was always amazing. Snacks were great. One last thing is it's theeeee most expensive resort we've ever been to. We've been lucky enough to travel the past 10 years and mostly to Mexico. Things that are included in other resorts like specialty drinks, bud lite, gift shop etc is by far the most expensive we've ever been. Their spa is crazy expensive and we live spas. We've been to grand moon place spa and other top ones with hydrotherapy etc and this place was wayyyyy more money which was surprising. Azul Beach Resort Negril: Beautiful resort
Rooms are nice, clean, mini fridge was stocked with drinks, good water pressure. Fold out couch bed was hard and too small for our 12 year old. No blowdryer. Grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Pools were nice, beach was amazing. They were constantly out of beach towels. People were just leaving their things on beach beds to claim them as their own the entire week. Food was pretty good (we’re vegan and they were happy to accommodate when we asked). Tipping is expected for everything which was a bit annoying. Execs should just pay the staff what they deserve instead of putting that responsibility on guests. Loved the staff, very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was mediocre but we appreciated their effort, some shows were better than others. Overall the resort is a 4 star, not 5.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Great beach but not five star hotel
The beach is wonderful we had booked a swim up suite in the adults only section. There isn’t enough sun loungers at the beach. You have to get up at 4am to reserve one. There’s also lack of towels the resort. the workers work hard and are friendly but everywhere you go you’re always missing a little bit something maybe there’s not beer because the machine froze, no more mint for drinks. The food was good but the dining experience was similar to the bar. You might order a meal and then they’ll tell you. Oh yeah, there was no coleslaw. They didn’t give you an extra option. You just are missing it.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun: A great resort!
We had a wonderful time at the resort and loved the boutique-like feel. We found it super clean everywhere. The staff were all amazing, friendly and went out of their way to help you. The beach was really nice, though breezy every day. They were cleaning sea weed on the beach twice daily when we were there but you could easily avoid it in the water. All the food we had was great and the drinks too! We really didn’t like the chair hogs, however that comes at every resort. And the locals that came in twice through the week to sell their wares we found to be extremely rude and pushy when trying to look at their stuff.

Hotel was very clean and the rooms/ patio were larger than most. Buffet was mediocre but the other ala carte restaurants were very good. Service was good. Quite resort, which is what we were looking for this trip. Terrible beach but the pools were good.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Best to look elsewhere
This is rated at 5 stars but in no way is it even close to that. Maybe a 3 star or slightly higher. The resort is located very close to a busy and noisy road. Tiny entrance way and you can hear the traffic from most rooms especially those near the closest rooms to the road. So if you have a swim up room and are hanging by the room its hard to have a conversation with your direct neighbours since the traffic can drown out conversations. If you are by the beach you can still hear a bit but the beach has other traffic issues. Normally the water is crystal clear and the swimming area has buoys to denote the swimming area but there are many boats promoting glass bottom tours, parasail or tubes just outside the swimming area and those boats tend to stir up alot of weeds that end up clouding the water. That pretty much happens every day! In the morning the water is clear but by 1pm it can get cloudy with the boats stirring up silt etc. The water is shallow generally and as such can get quite warm by mid afternoon. So you can swim in the ocean all day if you can deal with the boats going back and forth. The rooms in my complex area, building 1, were very tiny with no places for you to put your clothes so you basically live out of your suitcase on benches. I asked the front desk if they had any furniture they could put in the room. Sorry no they said. Turns out the rooms in building 8 and 9 are bigger and have furniture. Our neighbours had to switch rooms to building 8 and of course the resort dinged them for extra money per night just to get a good room. We arrived late in the afternoon and since we were tired we took the room we were given. In the morning we noticed very low water pressure on the hot water shower head. We chalked it up to bigger demand in the morning but it turns out it was just poor maintenance. The next full day we politely asked if they could look at the shower right around breakfast time. We checked in at noon. Nothing according to the front desk. We ran into two people who were supposed to be our concierge and told them about the water pressure issue. Then we checked again at 3 pm. Still the same. Since there is no West Jet rep on site I resorted to contacting our Nexus Rep (excursions and transfers) via WhatsApp and then things got started. Around 4:30 two guys showed up with tools but one guy had to go back to get some plumbing tools. He came back with a replacement USED valve/mixer and tried to install but didn't have any thread tape. He got it to work but it was leaky. He left since it was the end of his shift and the other guy came back and had to remove the valve and then put on the tape and re install the new used valve. Laughable. He got it to work sort of but still leaking. SO we had to take a shower and go to dinner and left him there to continue the repair. Not even an offer to move rooms... no offer to upgrade. Nothing. So by 8 pm we got back to the room and he was just finishing up but had some how damaged the ceiling drywall which meant the next day they had to have more staff come with drywall to repair the ceiling. It was like a parade of people in and out of the room the next day. My feeling is that they should do all their maintenance before the customer shows up not while the customer is there!!. As I mentioned to the Nexus rep some days later, no one comes to a place for vacation and wants to have to complain about maintenance every single day! Just maintain your property. Having said that there were many many maintenance issue. The bathroom vanity had a marble top with mirror edging. In our case the mirrors were all broken. As well they have many non wood deck planking around the pools and walking path and alot of those were cracked and had big gaps in the planking. Very poor maintenance. Some of the restaurant equipment stopped working ( pasta/egg station) . Of course in Jamaica the beaches are public so you constantly have sales guys on the beach selling excursions, jewellery, hats, artwork etc. Every single day and all day long. Even into the evening. Fortunately there's alot of beach chairs and sun beds but you need to get up at the crack of dawn to save a spot otherwise you are out of luck. People saved these for hours even if they were not sitting there. Staff is fine and food is adequate. I particularly felt the Italian restaurant was decent and consistent. Our rep at the hotel was not there at 10am the first day so I was not aware of the need to book the restaurants on the Azul app. I managed to book two a la cartes but then everything was booked solid. Not enough capacity. A number of people left the resort and went to outside restaurants and they seemed pleased with the quality and price. The main buffet is fine but again in some cases they run out of things like fries and they needed to crack out a big pot and make some fries in the pot. One thing I particularly hated was the promotion of the hotel to become a "Prestige member" which entitles you to discount rates and higher end rooms in the prestige building . They make you sit through a 90 minute plus presentation showing you various properties worldwide on a secure website showing pricing for a week for members. When it comes to the bottom line for members (various tiers) the guy pulls out a pad of paper and scribbles out the entry level 5 year membership for $7,000 USD or a 10 year membership for $21,000. Just scribbled on a piece of lined paper. The top tier was $250,000 for 20 years. Sounded like a ponzy scheme to me. In return for your patience they give you a $100 prestige dollar certificate. No real pressure but seemed pretty hinky to me. If you are looking for a 5 star place across the board then this is not the place. If you have prestige membership then maybe its 5 star but the rooms are pretty spotty and if you want something better then they are going to ding you big time per night. EVEN IF THERE ARE ISSUES WITH YOUR ROOM. Plenty of good resorts on this long beach and some that are legit 5 star places. The proximity to the beach makes this place acceptable otherwise its a hard pass. We would go back to Jamaica but not this resort.

Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: Great resort.
Would recommend and go back tomorrow! Clean & fresh room. Lots of staff maintaining the property. Loved the food, it was great and consistent (and safe food handling, none of our group of 8 got sick at all). very easy to communicate with staff. Water shoes recommended for the beach area. Occasionally activities that were scheduled seemed not to happen (but didn’t bother us at all). Pool area could use more umbrellas/shade as those spots were gone quick, but also really enjoyed the loungers included on all the balcony’s.

Well maintained and right on the beach. Numerous pools to choose from. Food was great at the buffet, lunch spots, Ackee and the Italian restaurant. Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Bad Experience
We were very excited to take my 4 year old here, but unfortunately that excitement was short lived. The daytime activities for swimming and water park were about the only great things. The food was so horrible and repetitive that we couldn't wait to get home. Don't get excited about the speciality restaraunts each night because they are not open every night and there is nothing posted to tell you so. All 3 of us ended up getting traveller's diarrhea on our 5th day. We tried to be very careful about what we ate but the way the food was handled was disgusting and you couldn't get away from it. We had to get antibiotics when we got home. We spoke to many people who all were sick as well and some so bad they were stuck in their rooms. The only great part about this entire trip was the excursion we did to Monkeyland. Rooms were very outdated. Our bathroom toilet door didn't even shut. Mold was growing behind the bath tub. The only restaraunt we found to be good was Fresco at the pool bar at building 3. We will never ever return to this resort. Very unorganized, the beach was so rough and don't plan to enjoy yourself on it because over 20 different vendors are constantly bugging you. Our son was approached by a man with a parrot and he just propped him in his hands and tried to get our phones to take photos and wanted to charge $60 US. Thankfully we were close by and told him to leave us alone. That is not okay!!!! For the price you pay for this resort, read the hundreds of bad reviews and go elsewhere. It may have been good at one time but it has gone downhill and you will regret it. We are very positive people and tried to overlook the negative comments and went with a clear mind, but unfortunately all those negative comments are 100% true. STEAR CLEAR!

Positive: The people working at this hotel are wonderful, caring and most of all the one we interacted with enjoyed being here. The room was spacious and had a great view. The coffee shop was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was great. The pools and bars were fantastic Negative: There is NO beach at this site...you need to walk over about ten minutes to a public beach to see sand and cleaner ocean water...but still algae visible. Unfortunately the food at the major restaurants was hit and miss for us. The quality of the fish and meats were great but NOT well prepared. Final thought...The entertainment was great during the day at the pools and the bands and shows were very good!

Selection Riviera Cancun: Nice Family resort
The resort is very good, Pools, Food, Rooms, Service & Staff were excellent. The Beach is tiny. You can not go for a walk outside the resort. The only ATM dispenses US dollars. For excursions and extras they want to be paid in US dollars. We had pesos which they finally accepted but prefer US dollars. Even if paying in pesos they work the rate out in US dollars and then convert to pesos. This is costly for the consumer. The charges for withdrawing money from ATMs (at the hotels or Banks) are very high. Bring cash in US dollars with you to pay for excursions and lots of single dollar bills for tips. We went to Porto Morales to visit the market - thinking it was a market used by local people - it is a tourist trap. Beach was ok but lots of armed soldiers. Day trip to Tulam historical site, Cenotes Pools & swimming with turtles was excellent. Bring a good hat and lots of sun screen. Taxis are more expensive that Canada, Generally found shopping - all geared at tourists - more expensive than Canada This was an Air Canada Vacations tour. Plane was old with no entertainment system. Flight delayed coming and going. Did not see or hear from A/C rep during whole trip. Could not contact them for confirmation on pick up for airport on return. TripCentral rep Manuela was good and responsive, Hotel very helpful but I would never book a vacation with Air Canada again.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun: Great resort, Not pleased with Trip central and West Jet
When I booked our trip to Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun Mexico from Hamilton the Trip Central website showed a morning flight. However it immediately changed to an evening flight, when I brought this up to my agent, I was told they don't see a morning flight on their end. However I showed them a video that clearly showed the time change, they replied by saying that's strange but did not offer to look into what happened or fix the issue. I did not want a late day flight as we lost the entire first day of our vacation. My next issue was with Transportation. We landed in Cancun at 8:15pm yet did not arrive at our hotel until 1:30am. Why? A minor issue with our planes gate being occupied (1 hr), an average wait for our baggage (30 minutes) and 3 hrs waiting for Nexus the transportation company that WestJet works with to get you to your Hotel. After exiting the airport we made our way to the gentleman in the orange shirts in charge of getting us onto our shuttles and to our hotels. They had an IPAD with a spreadsheet with all the reservations and hotels. We approached one of them to check in and to be directed to our bus. They took our name said wait here and they proceeded to leave 2 full planes worth of passengers to wait for hours as they walked in circles constantly looking at their lists with confusion platered on their faces. When they finally did put us on a bus there was no guide welcoming us to Mexico, explaining the currency or when to meet your rep at the resort like we usually receive during the drive to our resorts. there was only 1 driver and too many bags. he had to stack them at the front of the bus, and remove them with each stop so the passengers could get off. We were the second stop, They took us to the wrong resort. There are two Margaritaville's both Trip central and WestJet need to learn about the resorts that their customers are staying at, and ensure they are delivered to the right place and that their paperwork matches this. We tried telling this to the driver however he couldnt wrap his head around this, so we wasted another 20 minutes as the security at this resort tried to explain it to the driver. My last issue was that there was no representative to speak to about our return trip home, no note under the door to tell us when to meet with them. So on the last day when we checked out at 11am we asked when our pickup would be for our 9:30pm flight home. We were told we should have came to our meeting? What meeting? SO the man at the desk made me call and arrange pickup for 5:50pm we were told to be waiting no later than 5:40pm. They did not show up to get us until 6:30pm, most likely because they went to the wrong resort to get us. I have used Trip central many times to book our vacations, I often tell friends and Family to use trip central. However with so many issues with timing & transportation. I likely wont use them or WestJet in the future. Why use a travel agent if they don't offer any added value? anyone can book a flight, a hotel and private transfer online. An agent is supposed to make these things easier. Not this trip!! The Hotel was fabulous! I would return, but I would book and plan very differently next time!

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Resort was okay
The room that we had was very nice (honeymoon suite). Grounds were well taken care of and overall cleanliness was good. The majority of the staff were nice and always willing to help. We did, however, have an unpleasant experience when we checked in. After a 5 hour bus ride from the airport that was supposed to be only 2, the front desk person who checked us in was very rude and unwelcoming. She spelt our last name wrong and when I pointed it out to her, she grabbed the tablet away from me. Not a very good first impression of the property - that's for sure. We tried all 3 of the specialty restaurants and the food was not what we would have expected at a 5-star resort. The dinner buffet was hit and miss - some times good and other times, not so good. They had roast beef on the buffet one night and it was so tough, you couldn't cut it with a knife. The wait staff were great - no issues there. The breakfast buffet was good as well as the lunch BBQ on the beach. We were disappointed that there weren't enough lounges for everyone on the beach. You had to get up at 6:30 am to put a towel on a lounge - again, something I wouldn't expect at a 5-star resort. Also, staff were allowing guests to reserve more lounges and sunbeds then they needed. For example, we saw a couple using a large sunbed as well as 2 lounges and an umbrella when there were other guests who couldn't find anywhere to sit. I read comments on FaceBook that people were giving staff money to hold chairs for them - definitely a practice that needs to be addressed by management. Experience with bars okay overall.

El Dorado Casitas Royale: Good resort with some annoying things
Overall a really great time. Biggest annoyance is their concierge service. They MAKE you book things through the concierge and every time, he tries to sell you up on something (join the resort club, buy a special dinner table, come on this tour, etc.) Once you learn that by day 2, it's pretty easy to avoid it. Service was hit and miss. Sometimes the people were awesome and great; sometimes they were grumpy and off-putting. Room service took anywhere between 25 mins and 2 hours so just make sure you know that before you order room service. With that said... Food was great. Rooms were great. Pool was great. Resort grounds were beautiful. Shuttle service across the resort was always east to get. I don't think we will be back, but I would still recommend this resort to people who enjoy good food and enjoy relaxing.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: A Quiet Hideaway
I was impressed all around with the resort. We stayed on the Palms side in the 3700 series rooms (not oceanfront nor swim out although we did have a nice size balcony). The food was fantastic, drinks plentiful and the rooms spacious and clean. We had no issues making reservations for the various restaurants (there was only two of us), our favourite was the Pub and the Asian. Breakfast we were at the Market Buffet and loved it. We are Canadian and enjoy my Caesar drinks. They have a no name clamato Juice and some seasoning jug so not too bad except they use salt for the rim instead of celery salt. The beach, smaller swimming area, shallow but perfect to slip into and cool off. Take your snorkelling equipment as not available to rent. The beach beds were plentiful and free (except a few for premium guests which were well labelled). Lots of lounge chairs. No crazy saving of chairs needed (although a few guests did) Lots of various areas to hang out on the beach, find your own which matches your mood. Aqua fitness with G from Netherlands was great and memorable. Lots of staff, always a greeting, helpful and smiling. A few activities during the day if you wish. OK shows at night. Nothing memorable. Didn't partake in the bars. Did hear a few guests complain about the noise from the bar at night and their rooms were moved as it went until 2 pm. Felt very safe, nice paths, great night lighting in the foliage. A marked 5 km course for joggers or walkers. A bit of a transfer trip to and from the airport (1.5-2 hours) depending if you have other guests at various resorts to drop/pick up and traffic. I would go back again. Danielle at Trip Central was helpful throughout the process of deciding which resort would be a good fit for us.

The hotel was really nice but very limited activities. Food was ok. Limited restaurants that close early. Service was ok. for a 5 star I was expecting exceptional service and food. The beach is small. two steps from the Canbana and your are there and lots of seaweed. They could at least clean it up. The hotel is beautiful. The entertainment wasn't that great. If you like an older crowd 50+years and couples old this place is for you. It is a quite hotel if that is what you are looking for. Selection Riviera Cancun: Azul Beach resort Cancun Mexico
The tap/shower water smelled like sewage, and my whole body and hair smelled foul after every wash and bath. Some of the guests kept their belongings on the Beach Gazebo overnight, and this way, they held it all the time. The hotel must have a rule to remove the stuff if left unattended for more than 30 minutes on the Gazebo. The staff was courteous except for a few. The food menu was rotated daily in the SPOON buffet, and the rest of the restaurant was ordered to cook. They run locality presentations and offer $150 vouchers, like collecting tickets from an in-game arcade to get souvenirs. That is how much the value of the Gift vouchers is. Overall, the experience was positive, but I recommend looking for other options if available.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Not what we expected
I wasn’t going to submit a review but I was asked to submit one by Tripcentral so here it is This is a beautiful facility The grounds are lush and well maintained The room was large and the bed was very comfortable Many of the staff were very friendly and spoke good English They went out of there way to make your stay something to remember Unfortunately there were many issues we encountered that detracted from this beautiful location The food was average at best the only thing large about the meals was the plate Portions were very small Most of the meals were very bland with few spices The crispy octopus at Arrefices was excellent and the tenderloin at Mia Casa was delicious and cooked perfectly several times the plates we received weren’t what was described on the menu A dry crispy steak burrito that wasn’t deep fried at all Ceviche with plain shrimp no lemon or lime marinate A dry sweet and sour burrito that wasn’t sweet and sour at all I was told they fired the chef because of complaints At the seaside market Many of the chafing dishes were empty When asking for the fish we were given a small potion of skin and bones hardly any meat The same thing with the pork A small portion of skin and fat hardly any meat The beach BBQ was decent although they were never ready for service at the 7:00 am they stated The staff wandered in with no apparent start time and they were in no hurry to prepare for the growing line up Gloria on the omelette station always had a nice smile and was very friendly The other staff were unfriendly and didn’t seem to be interested in communicating with their customers. The seagulls that swarmed the tables were ridiculous.they would dive bomb the tables taking food right off the plate in front of you Literally 20 to 30 seagulls descended on the tables when they were vacated and the staff for the most part did nothing to alleviate the problem Breakfast at culinaria was decent although the waiter we had was terrible we ordered espresso with hot water, he told us the machine was broken So he brought us a cup of the house coffee the only cup we got several tables came in after us and finished there meals and left before we were even served. I asked to speak to the manager but the waiter ignored our request after waiting for 20 minutes I asked him again When the manager came over I explained our predicament she was very apologetic and I could tell she was surprised when I told her what the waiter had said about the espresso machine being broken. Most of the time there was only 1 waitress for 500 feet of beach. The waitress did the best she could but with the volume she was expected to serve she frequently forgot who ordered what and the beer was usually not cold by the time it was delivered I found the draught beer they served unpleasant. No corona or model anywhere on the resort Fortunately our room was a beachfront so I was able to go back to my room for a cold can of Coors light. Every day there was a backhoe running up and down the beach spewing desiel fumes on everyone, very unpleasant it should have been done at night when no one was there. The lounge chairs at the beach were very uncomfortable as they had no cushions on them. We had to bring pillows from our bed everyday in order to not end up with a sore backs! Many of the staff spoke very little English and didn’t understand what we were saying so they were unable to answer our questions. This also led to the wrong drinks being served if you received them at all The fire show was great the performers were very talented I highly recommend seeing it if you decide to go there The meal was very unorganized we also noticed the the second week we were there about 10 of the chafing stations had been removed so there was less variety to choose from I talked with many people who had been to the resort several times in the past and most said that with the new management company they wouldn’t be returning This is unfortunate as it really is a beautiful property with great potential I was really looking forward to this trip but it was a real disappointment for us.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Lies, lies, lies not a 5 star….if you want the worst customer service experience with a rep go to this hotel!!
This hotel is not a 5 star or a 4 star and that saddens me because I feel like the photos are all lies. We just went November 24-27th for a getaway. First off the photos look beautiful but when you get there, there’s broken swimming pool tiles, broken pathways, the smell is gross I mean it’s just gross. We were so excited to arrive but our first night I called asking for an extra blanket it took 3 calls and almost 2 hours later. One of the swimming bars ran out of ice 2 hours after it opened making warm drinks at the bar. The beach if you want to call it that is not swimmable at all there’s no beach it’s all seaweed and the water is so dark and cloudy we didn’t want to swim in something we couldn’t see. Definitely not what the pictures showed us!!! They give you a card for beach towels and tell you if you lose the towels you will have to pay $30 usd per towel. Our neighbour watched a worker pick ours up on our chair while we were swimming and leave with them I had to call 2 times explaining and thank god our neighbours seen the worker do that or we would have had to pay $60usd. When towels arrived they were bath towels and I had to re explain fighting for the right ones. Now the best part you get this little note and they say they want to give you a gift for being there they offer massages or private dinners or a two for one on the catamaran. They say in exchange you come for a 90 minute presentation about what they offer and see if you want to before a member. We were only there for 2 more days so they allowed us to go on the catamaran first and the next day come for the presentation. We arrived the following day and I was very upfront with them explaining we were here for the presentation, one of us may have to leave at some point we have a 22 month old with us and cannot predict a baby but she may be ok we don’t know. I explained we were here to listen but we have zero interest in becoming a member we have a wedding coming up and that takes priority. Berniece the rep immediately was like you’re wasting our time and I don’t think this is a good fit you agreed to be here and we want to sell you on the experience. We said “ that was fine we will do the tour but in the end it’s not going to happen for us†she basically walked off talking about us to 2 other colleagues came back and said “ ya we aren’t going to do this you can go the rep who gave you the coupon is going to pay for this this is a waste of time and you work at Toyota so this isn’t a good fit†throwing a fit because we didn’t want a timeshare deal like we came to get away not be hounded we agreed to be there and they didn’t like that we had our foot down. First off clearly she doesn’t know what someone makes at Toyota and I work for the Canadian Government so in a heartbeat we could have bought a membership that was so rude of her to say that without any knowledge of our income!! So if you are looking for poor management who throw tantrums when you don’t want to become a member then by all means go to this hotel! It left a huge sour taste in our mouth and we will never return there ever and word of mouth is powerful and we will tell everyone to stay away after how BERNIECE treated us!!!

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Happy with our stay
This was a nice place to stay, facilities were beautiful, food was okay, and the staff were friendly. Best meals were the lunch walk ups (tacos, burgers, hotdogs, nachos) because the food was cooked right infront of you, and got it fresh off the grill. Breakfast at the beach BBQ was also great. Food was very satisfying. I wasn't as impressed with all of the dining meals however, although that doesn't mean the food was bad. I would go back here. Alot of falling coconuts, nobody was injured, but there was definitely a few incidents that made everyone go "that was close". Maybe harvesting a few before they get to that point would be a good idea. At least the ones above walkways. 4/5 because our experience was good overall

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Fabulous resort
We loved everything about the Eldorado Seaside Palms. The resort is immaculate, staff are super friendly, the food is excellent other than lacking in choices at lunch. Dinners are great. The entertainment during Halloween and Day of the Dead was beyond spectacular. The Bali beds and loungers are plentiful and one never had to get up at the crack of dawn to “reserve†one. We will be returning for sure.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: What a great resort!!
My husband and I loved this resort so much! The staff could not do enough for us - they were so attentive and friendly. It was the little things that we loved so much - the modern touches like wristband room entry, housekeeping requests through the Margaritaville app, the automatic lights and the housekeeping/do not disturb buttons really add up to a nice experience. The food was incredible! We loved Frank & Lola's the best (Italian cuisine). But JWB Steakhouse was delicious as well. We loved hanging out nightly at the Landshark Brewery listening to the live bands and DJ and watching sports on the big screens. Didi was the best server, we loved him!! There was no shortage of delicious foods at the Breakfast Buffet as well. The rooms are new and clean and the shower head was incredible!! I would take the longest warm showers because I loved it so much! There is no beach front yet, but once there is this place will be even better. But for now, the pools are great with a decent amount of entertainment. The foam party was a blast! Book this resort, you will not regret it!

Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana Hammock: Beach lovers avoid!
We had a good vacation but we are pool people. The beach is so bad at the resort they tell you to walk to the next resort. However even walking to it is tough as there is broken glass everywhere so forget long walks on the beach. Also the shoreline has a ton of seaweed ( way more than anywhere I’ve seen) and coral so hard to walk into. Aside from that food is better than almost any resort I’ve been too. Rooms are beautiful. Get the villa. It’s worth it. Although ac is an issue across resort. Staff are great. Drinks are as good as anywhere and when went it was dead. We almost had the pools to ourselves. Don’t go if you have kids as there is NOTHING for them and almost no activities if you are into that.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Wasn't as what was thought
Started by us not having a ride from the airport to the resort. Got there and it was pretty good for setting, for weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries. Not what we went there for but was alright! The staff was all over the map though... the booking staff was straight lying about proper times for dinners. The food was hit or miss. I enjoyed having a swim out pool, with bar, from the floor rooms, and the rooms where phenomenal. The people on the phone, or in the 'help' desks where terrible on help, unless you know spanish. The hotel had recently been bought out from another company, which made it not in full operation. Otherwise the hotel grounds itself was amazing and very well cleaned , they had random stuff happen at night ( saxophone was a plus) beach was great We went to the host the day before to make sure we had a bus ride to the airport, they told us they will have staff come and pick us up at 7 with luggage straight to travel bus In the am we went to the front around 645, just to be sure and the front desk staff told us it left at 630 am every morning. So the host staff do not know how to communicate one bit and we had to call another cab for the airport. Even when I broke out in hives I asked for some dry oatmeal, they said it will be ordered, yet they never did. I personally told the food delivery hours later for some and they easily brought it. Either way we did meet some great people and had fun, even with the skunks 4.5 star, not 5

Generations Riviera Maya: Worst resort
It was the worst experience I have ever had. Had a 2 year old grandson with me no food choices for him. No buffets only 2 restaurants open. West jet was the worst no pick up no drop off. No reps available at generation resort to talk to had to book a ride to airport as no one could help us. Generation resort is nothing like they post on Instagram or you read about. I recommend not to go. Rooms beyond outdated. No drinks for children. Never again . No night life and it's around a swamp the smell is terrible

Selection Riviera Cancun: Super nice ,compact resort, meh beach.
Room was very nice with jacuzzi ensuite. Balcony overlooking the pool. There is one feature of the room that will make some guests uneasy which is the translucent frosted glass of the shower which is seen from the room side. If you have younger adults or children staying in the same room it might be bothersome. The lobby and other common areas were always clean. Staff were quite helpful. The main restaurant, Spoons is not open every night which means you have to go to one of the other restaurants. We stayed in this resort previously in 2017 and there are now some downgrades compared to then. The kids/family side is no longer a Nickelodeon venue but the splash park and Pizza place are still there as is the daycare. The menu items of the restaurants were altered and notable were the 9 courses of tapas which are no longer offered. The Italian restaurants' dishes of Rissoto were not up to par. Absent was the singing chef which previously was a delight. As this visit was in the off season the resort has several areas which were having repairs. There are many "opportunities" to get upgrades, for a rather steep price. The Beach - Some sea weed was to be expected as we had heard reports that many places in the Caribean are plagued this year. However it was less than expected. The distance from the retaining wall to the water is fairly short and the bottom was not visible due to murky waters and it was fairly shallow and rocky which made it unpleasant and difficult to swim in. Entertainment started at 9:30 for adults and there was usually an 8pm show for kids as well.At this resort there is no place to sit outside at night, such as a cafe/bar type area. Back in 2017 there was more entertainment in the lobby area as well. There are some Iguanas roaming around but they tend to keep to themselves. This resort is realativly close to the airport but not close enough to the town to take a walk over to the local Walmart. We were advised it would cost $35 US dollars in a taxi each way!! Each building has a concierge who is responsible for making your stay enjoyable and for upselling you on multiple luxury offers which are pretty expensive. One last thing that I found disappointing is that my room was not able to be cleaned until late afternoon each day. This was not at all normal compared to any resort I had visited in the past. I fact we opted not to have our room cleaned on several days as we were in the room at that time.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Good resort
Overall the resort was good but needs a bit of updating. We appreciated that we were upgraded but did not feel the price we paid was worth the accommodation.. the staff overall were amazing in most areas. We were in the premium section 11 and we there was lack of waiters on beach. 7 days we may have seen them 2 times. We did notice that more focus was spent on the adult only side which was 2 ft away from us. Food was lacking especially the fruit. We had to purchase our own mangoes and passion fruit from vendors… extremely disappointing. Once again the staff I. All areas were amazing including the security on the beach. Now for Sunwing.. we did not see or get a call all week from them, we also had to call ourselves for transfer back to hotel

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Beautiful Resort
Very clean and well maintained. Beautiful resort. We were not informed about the personal concierge, when we did find out the one assigned to us wasn’t there so we never met her, ended up learning and finding everything on our own with some difficulties in some areas of the resort. The upsell of packages (food, spa etc) was a bit much. Shuttle to airport over 2 hrs due to going off route to pick up people, making that resort location not favourable to travel too and from with that type of travel/shuttle itinerary (understand that is more of the airline Sunwing issue).

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Nice Resort
Everything at the resort was fantastic, except for the food not so good. But, the property was nice for walking and the beach splendid. The staff and people are very nice and friendly. The place is clean and service good. When you call they come. I would recommend if you dont care about getting good authentic Jamaican food on the grounds. However, Negril is small and there are lots of places near the resort to get food and it's safe for tourist to get out during the day time.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Definitely not a 5 star resort as it is rated … more like a 3 star
The resort needs to be updated overall… the walkways are uneven which is a falling hazard … no elevators … not condusive to people with strollers or injuries. The loungers on the beach are old and dilapidated… not enough umbrellas and the ones they have are falling apart. The food at the buffet was atrocious… hardly any fruit and when asked if they had a certain fruit they would say it’s not in season, meanwhile there were vendors on the beach selling the fruit we were asking for… weird! The accomadations were ok… the rooms were spacious and clean except for the unwelcomed guest I found in one of the drawers (cockroach) … the waiters and entertainment staff were great and friendly but the front desk staff especially the front desk manager was rude and dismissive! Made the beginning of my trip very unpleasant! The only thing salvageable about this resort is the beautiful beach…. Definitely would not go back or recommend it unless some improvements are made

Nothing extraordinaire , low key , very clean ……butler service has declined since Covid thinking it’s a staffing issue , this has been our third time to visit this resort , the service has changed but again so has the rest of the world ! We sat at the beach palapa for the sound of the ocean & breeze , the seaweed is plentiful definitely not appealing to go in the water , pools are very enjoyable with lots of variety. Tough to get a 7:00pm reservation but the food in all the restaurants was bang on. The one server that stood out for outstanding service was Antonio beach butler …he goes above & beyond to make your stay amazing !! Room service was bang on , great service & selection

Selection Riviera Cancun: It’s not me, it’s you.
I wanted so much from this resort. It wasn’t cheap so I had mid range expectations staying at lower and higher stars before. I travelled myself with two children. Kids pool was clean as was the family pool. Kids club, you need reservations at least the day before. It’s run by booking events by the hour. No drop ins. I found lady at front to be cool at best. All staff seemed short except on cleaners and maintenance. Service by the pool was slow. Like 40min to wait for a drink and you can’t eat by the pool either. Only one server the entire day by the pool. Always had to wait for buffet and restaurants even though many tables open. We have a gluten allergy. We were asked everywhere if there were allergies but no one told us what was safe and the labels weren’t found on most foods. When I asked what was safe the one greeter told me I’d be safe by sticking to veggies. Ah, thanks?! Went to the store one night for chips I knew are gluten free. $14US. Sunblock $35US. Come on. On the 3rd day I asked for gluten free nachos as when I asked if the buffet had gluten was told of course. These are Mexican. So they brought me some from somewhere. They were good so the next day o asked for more. The server said but I have to get them from the bar. Rolled his eyes left, never to return. On the fourth day, server told me if I wanted gluten free pancakes ( I asked every day what they had that was safe) he said I should be ordering them the day before. So I ordered them. They came after my children had finished eating. Food wasn’t that great. Ok, I didn’t starve though I’m sure I was glutened. Drinks- pool bar even if you went direct to it, it was still a 30 min wait if there was 4-5 people ahead of you. You also got whatever they felt like making because I ordered the same drink everyday and it was always a surprise if I got what I wanted. There was zero consistency. Bartenders did not pay attention to who arrived- more so if you spoke Spanish- and seemed almost bothered with people there. Is it that hard to smile? Say ola? Buenos dias? Did I mention I tip quite a bit? I do, people work hard however, by the end of the week service didn’t get any better even when tipping so I stopped for the first time ever. Except for the room cleaner who was always consistent and reliable. I ordered a birthday cake, the request was to have buttercream with as many sprinkles as possible for a little girl. We received a fruitcake with banana filling that turned brown and was a mush mess. Kids didn’t want to eat it. $75US When I complained concierge found me by the pool and said I heard you didn’t get the cake. I said I got a cake but not the one I requested. He said okay, thank you have a good day. Here I was thinking, they would at minimum discount the cake. Nope. Charged full price. Concierge didn’t make things happen either. From complaining about the cake to why gluten free foods were. Not labeled or properly explained to those with allergies- all they said was oh they should know. I hope you enjoy your day. The beach was unwalkable and smelled. You’d think to make up for that customer service would be bang on. I won’t be back. I gave them every opportunity to make it right while there and not complain after the fact and absolutely nothing was done.

Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: Fabulous vacation
Worked with trip central again for my all inclusive trip. Most of my vacations are booked through the site as it is easy to navigate. I would suggest before finalizing your booking to call to discuss with an agent to make sure all your questions or concerns are addressed. There is a lot of information and speaking with someone with experience helps with certain not so obvious facts.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Relaxing Holiday
Overall the resort and the staff at the resort were wonderful. The room, and especially the bed, was very comfortable, and we spent much time on our well-equipped personal patio (with easy access to the beer fridge) The resort is quite small so it was easy to get around. The food was good and plentiful. The beach was not the greatest we have seen. It is quite rocky near the shore so surf shoes are needed. The pools were great, but one big problem was the access to most of the pools was difficult for someone with a mobility problem (e.g., my wife). Stairs with railing access, as opposed to just ladders, would make getting in and out of the pools much easier for older folks. The adult only pool was the exception with stair access but often the music was a bit too loud and geared to a young adult crowd (i.e., way too much rap). On another note, tripcentral was very helpful prior to the trip (thanks Tammy) and Westjet and airport transport service was great at getting my wife wheelchair help at the airport.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Not a 5 or 4 Star
Service left a lot to be desired. No towels or enough chairs on the beach, mini bar in room not replenished without calling room service, shortage of rum at the bars. Lack of quality entertainment. Long lines and long wait times for tables to be set at buffets. Not enough choices in a la carte restaurants, eg no steak restaurant, and food at buffets lacked variety - the same stuff each day.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana Hammock: Beyond my expectations!
The resort is the perfect size easy to get around. The restaurants were the best I’ve eaten at in the DR and no reservations needed. Huge plus! Very modern no cash needed for anything. Room key is on your bracelet very handy. Touch less elevator buttons. We stayed in the adult section but the family section was very quiet no problems. The rooms were very nice and clean with large balconies and outside seating. Lobby bar always had some kind of entertainment going on in the evenings. Super friendly and helpful staff. It’s the first resort that I would consider staying at again. The only cons I would say is the concierge service which is really just a pressure salesman to buy timeshare in their villas. I found that to be a real turnoff, he was quite pushy. And the beach area wasn’t great but the pool area was awesome! Cap Cana is literally 10 minutes from the airport so also a bonus. Overall I would definitely recommend this resort, service, food and high tech features were all great.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Amazing week at The Azul
Loved this property. Just the right size. Not to big but not so small that you felt crowded. Staff were all wonderful! Cheerful and accommodating. Room are a little dated and need a little TLC. However they are clean and comfortable. We did spend 1 night in one of the newly renovated rooms and it was gorgeous. White with aqua accents makes the room looks so bright and airy. We decided to upgrade to a swim up room which was amazing. Love that each room has its own set of stairs with a railing to get in and out of pool. The staff from the swim up bar come by about every 25 minutes to take your drink orders. They were amazing and well deserving of the tips we gave them We had no complaint with any of the food. Room service was fantastic and restaurants were varied and never to crowded. There was only one night when we waited maybe 10 minutes for a table at the Mexican restaurant but they seated us at the bar outside and we enjoyed a before dinner drink. Most restaurants don’t require reservations they operate on a first come first serve system, but as I said we never really had to wait. They few restaurants that do require reservations are super easy to book. Each building has its own concierge and you can book with them at your convenience. We highly recommend the Italian Restaurant! The main buffet Spoons has a large selection of food with different themes everyday. Food was good but could have been a little hotter. We understand that it is hard to regulate temperatures without overcooking or drying food out. They do have an area we’re you can pick out your own meat and they will cook it for you to your liking. We also appreciated that they take food allergies very seriously. They always asked if you had any allergies before seating you. We did not any of the nightly shows so I can’t comment on them. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Azul. If you are beach people this is probably not the place for you. Beach is small and it was full of seaweed while we were there, which is why we switched to a swim up. It could have just been a bad time for the seaweed. There was staff out there daily raking the beach but it didn’t last long. The ocean views from the restaurants and pool areas are lovely Overall we really enjoyed our week there.

El Dorado Maroma: Adorable El Dorado
The restaurant staff were all very friendly and great at making sure all was perfect. The food was amazing, we stayed at many good resorts but this was a notch above. One exception, Celina (Mio restaurant) was quite inflexible the day of our arrival and another night despite having a reservation. The concierges checked in with us often but failed to deliver on their promise to act on our requests. Beach was amazing, with sand powdery white, just incredible and one could walk indefinitely on either end. They worked daily on managing the seaweeds but nature often won. It was still great to swim though you had to walk in a long way to get to deeper water. The spa and gym were very nice. Painting (with Felipe) and cooking classes were so much fun. One note of caution on excursion: we booked a few excursions to Tulum and Cenote and snorkelling, with Lomas travel, their own on-site agency. We were quoted a cost in USD. Upon checking out, they converted back to pesos and ended up charging up 20$ then the quoted USD price even if we paid in cash. The Lomas agent would not accept cash upon booking.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Excellent resort for families
Azul Beach Resort was perfect for our family vacation. There is something for everyone. We were traveling with our 16 month old son, and all of our needs were met and expectations exceeded. We were given a crib for our hotel room, every restaurant had a highchair for our baby, he loved the pools and splash pad. The balcony faced the pools/ocean and the view was spectacular. We spent a lot of time on the balcony when our babe was sleeping, and they have a lovely outdoor sectional on each balcony which was very comfortable. We made use of the giant jacuzzi in the bedroom every night. The food was delicious, and we were able to try each a la carte restaurant. Each one was unique and tasty. I would definitely go back, especially when our son is a little older as they have tons of activities for kids aged 4-12.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Fantastic vacation! We highly recommend this resort! Minimum 4.5 ***
We cannot say enough positive things regarding this resort. Although a bit dated, everything was spotless, functional and constantly being cleaned or maintained. Our focus is the water, and the gently waves in the ocean were terrific to float in. We also had a deluxe swim up room with a great view of the ocean which we used quite a bit. It afforded ready access to the swim up bar, so within seconds we could refill our drinks. The food was great, if something wasn't to our liking it was because we were exploring new tastes that personally didn't suit our pallets. Now for the best part, the people at the resort. Everyone was friendly, helpful and would go out of their way to assist if asked. Including when it was not their duties. They either assisted or immediately found someone who could. Employees we regularly interacted with quickly started greeting us by name as did we. Special shout out to Antoinette at the swim up bar, we and others kept her hopping and she only had smiles and great banter in response to our silly antics. Natalie (concierge) checked on us at least once a day to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and whether we needed anything. After the first morning the hostess at the palms where we had breakfast each day greeted us by our first names and made us welcome (I am embarrassed that while there and till now could not wrap my head around remembering her name). As above, we look for a vacation where we spend most of the time relaxing in the ocean or pool, not overly noisy/busy, yet with a little bit of entertainment here and there to enjoy when the mood strikes us. This resort was firing on all cylinders for our tastes. Nothing is ever completely perfect, so I would put the Azul at 4.5 heading towards 5 stars

We went to Margarritaville Cap Cana Adult section the end of January 2023. This hotel was very nice and clean. The grounds were immaculate. Food was very good, no complaints there. Even room service was good, only downfall was it takes a little while to get to you, so order ahead of time. Premium alcohol for drinks, staff very friendly . Check in and check out was very smooth. Big pool, not too crowded. Just beware of the timeshare or prestige club. It’ll absorb 2 hours of your day, when they try to sell you packages starting at 9,000 dollars. The only downfall about this hotel is the beach. The sand part is nice, the ocean is dirty and rocky. No one dared to go into it. Otherwise a nice clean getaway!

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Nice resort - bad experience!
I've been to Riviera Maya 9 times now - and 8 of those trips have been fantastic in every way. This place is over-rated, over-priced, and underwhelming. Nice rooms, but constant noise from late night bars and music spoiled the natural beach front. And the food is average at best. I don't go to Mexico to eat burgers and fries - the local cuisine can be/is fantastic. Just in very short supply at El Dorado Suites. To really ruin for us though - I bought a hat in the gift shop, for $60 - already money enough - and you can imagine my reaction when my CC statement comes in the following month with a $600 charge! Yes, folks - you are reading correctly! Impossible to reach the resort, the gift shop, etc. TripCentral themselves did not offer help with this problem. I am still fighting to get this fraud corrected. We also had the trip interrupted by a family emergency - certainly nobody's fault - and in using TripCentral to book tickets to the US, we were charged commission over and above the published price! Even in an emergency! TripCentral were also no help in the unused flight from Westjet. They got paid, so case closed, I guess. A very unsavory experience overall. Don't go to Dorado Suites - and don't expect any support beyond booking a trip and taking your CC info from Trip Central.
